Hi guys, sorry for the sparse updates, school has been... a lot. Anyway, I did a thing and I hope you like it, and I hope you like the new update. It's just fluff but things should start picking up again soon!

Strikes and Spares

"Felix," Tarla sang, nudging him from where she sat, cross-legged on his bed.

"Tarla," he sang back, setting his phone down on the bedside table next to him and turning towards her.

"You're distracted, what's up?" She asked, going straight to the point as she continued to knot the rainbow strings in her hand to make a bracelet.

"Nothing-" he cut himself off at her raised eyebrows. "Ok but, you have to not make fun of me."

"Me? Never! Felix. BC. Who do you think I am?" Felix just raised an eyebrow before the two of them broke into giggles.

"BC?" he asked once they'd caught their breath.

"Barot-Cooper," was all Tarla responded, shrugging. "Anyway, thing I'm not allowed to make fun of you for...?"

"Ok listen..."

"Felix I swear," Tarla laughed, shaking her head, "Just say it, whatever it is I won't judge you bitch." Felix opened his mouth and then closed it again. Tarla squeezed her eyes shut, dramatically laying back to cover her eyes with her hand and the two of them were in fits of laughter once more.

"Jupiter!" He finally said once they'd sobered up a bit. Tarla made a gesture as if to continue. "Oh there's nothing more to it, I'm just distracted by them, they were texting me."

"Felix I swear to god," Tarla said, rubbing her forehead. "The way I thought you were about to tell me something I wouldn't expect and you're out here talking about the person you're in an unofficial thing with."

"I feel attacked," was all Felix said, sitting down and glancing at his phone. Before he could stop himself he grinned at the notification from Jupiter. He immediately straightened his face but it was too late.

"That was them wasn't it?" Tarla asked, laughing as Felix just pursed his lips.

"Fuck you."

"I didn't do anything!" Suddenly Tarla's phone buzzed and she grinned at whatever message she got before responding, ignoring Felix's questioning looks.

"Wait what we were gonna do before you started making fun of me?" Felix asked, raising his eyebrows at Tarla. She snorted glancing up to look at him before going back to typing.

"Figure out the food details for Aeron's party," she finally said, tearing her eyes from her phone and setting it down next to her.

"Ok, let's do that."

Felix straightened his jeans jacket, making sure that his shirt was good. He checked his fingers again, making sure the orange nail polish wasn't chipped, and that it matched his t-shirt. He was incredibly nervous and he wasn't completely sure why. Well he knew why, but admitting it was not something he was about to do. He pulled on his socks making sure his cuffed jeans were even and slipped his phone into his pocket.

He felt the urge to slide down the railing but he knew that he had no idea how to do that so he settled with walking, pretending he was in a music video halfway down by twirling, and then continuing on. When he got downstairs he was met with the sight of Dani writing what appeared to be a letter with his mom next to her, and his mama in the kitchen pouring a cup of coffee.

"What did you guys end up deciding to do?" his mama asked from the kitchen as the doorbell rang.

"We're going bowling I think. Tarla's not coming, she's gotta finalize some stuff for Aeron's party." His mama nodded, and he blew his mom a kiss while moving towards the door. He opened it and saw Jupiter standing there, their hair pulled pack, small flowers tucked into the hair tie. Their shirt was a pastel green tucked into cream colored pants.
