I'm back! It's been a little while and if you saw on my profile I took a little break due to my mental health. I also haven't had much time to write on my own because of school but I did write some stuff for my creative writing class that got me back into the spirit to write this! I hope you like it and I can't promise the most frequent updates but I'll try to write more, thank you all for your support!

Dinner and Small Moments

Felix glanced at Dani who was frantically straightening all the cutlery on the table. His moms had asked him and Dani to set the table. Dani had been grinning ever since she heard that Jupiter and their dad were coming over for dinner and the way she was making sure every detail was as perfect as she could make it said a lot about how excited she was.

The sound of the doorbell echoed through the house and as Felix made his way over towards the door, he saw a flash of curly hair as Dani ran in front of him. His moms appeared behind him as Felix opened the door. Jupiter's eyes seemed to shine against the lights, half of their hair tucked behind their ear, the other half falling into their eyes a little.

"Hi, Jupiter!" Dani exclaimed, grinning at them. They grinned, brushing the hair that was in their eyes away from it.

"Hi, Dani!"

"Come in," Felix said, opening the door wider to let Jupiter and their dad in.

"Nice to meet you!" Felix's mom said, extending her hand for Jupiter's dad to shake it. He gave her a small smile, scratching his arm.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Sammy, Jupiter's dad."

"I'm Nia, and my beautiful wife here is Raxa," Felix's mama said, grinning widely.

"I'm Dani!" Dani said, her lips turned upwards in a bright smile. She held her hand out proudly, shaking Jupiter's dad's. Jupiter grinned widely at Dani as they watched their dad slightly lose his composure as he shook her hand making Felix let out a breathy laugh. Their dad seemed pretty nervous and Felix hoped that his moms would put him at ease soon. The six of them moved towards the living room, Dani shuffling in her seat.

Felix's mama moved towards the kitchen as the rest of them sat down. Felix saw his mom's apprehension as she watched her wife finish setting up the food and Felix shot her a quick reassuring glance before following his mama. His mama was notorious for choosing all of the wrong things to put the food in. The plates were either so big that the food-filled about half of them or so small that they ended up using two serving dishes.

"Thank you," his mama laughed as Felix started pulling serving dishes out of the cupboards.

"Did you see mom's face," Felix grinned, tilting his head. "The fear on her face-"

"I'm not that bad."

"Remember last time when-"

"Okay maybe I'm a little bad," she admitted, transferring some of the food from the pot into the serving dish. Felix took the serving spoons out of the cupboard, following his mama as she took the food towards the table.

"Do you wanna call everyone for dinner now or leave them sitting there for a bit more time?" Felix's mama asked, glancing at the doorway that led towards the living room.

"Let's give them a bit more time. Their dad seemed so nervous and no one's better than mom to put people at ease." His mama just hummed in agreement. The two of them relaxed, leaning against the counter.

"So is there anything we should know about Jupiter?"

"Well, uh, what do you wanna know?"

"You mentioned that you might have a crush on them, and I - and your mom- didn't want to say anything or push you or anything but you said that and didn't say anything else after that so..."
