Consequences Brought

As the snow and ice finally begins to thaw
so goes away the stress and woes of winter.
It all seems like some sort of natural bi-law
for each spring is a rebirth to what things were.

As flowers start their bloom, I remember her
and the years we spent enjoying each spring.
Many will recall much more than we'd prefer
what could have been if I gave her that ring.

Regrets overflow because of the choices made
so ashamed for following the worn down path.
Participating in a race to get paid and then laid
goals that left me broken and feeling such wrath.

Life is a struggle, no one ever claimed it was not
you chose this, so accept the consequences brought.
