I see her every evening as I close my eyes
whenever my deep slumber finally comes
sharing time together before the sunrise
saddened by a dawn worse than bad drums. Then the days are long and uneventful
as I endure the life of a pitiful lemming.
Giving up my time for a minuscule handful
of peanuts, an existence worth condemning.Yet when I see her, everything will change
as those eyes, that smile make me feel good.
Despite the turnaround, it's not that strange
but I know my place, nothing's misunderstood.Even though I suffer through each grueling day
seeing that woman in my dreams makes it okay.
