In honor of labour's day, people gather round,
as for generations past, the grind was great.
Observing the sweat that our nation's found,
and because of their pains, we now celebrate.

With calloused hands and brows furrowed deep,
they worked tirelessly from morning till night.
They all sowed the seeds that our children reap,
in every factory, field, and construction site.

Great unions rose to fight for worker's rights,
through great struggles, they forged the way.
Ensuring fair wages, and protected nights.
creating a brighter, honest and fairer day.

Today we all cherish the fruits of their toil,
and benefits won through strife and turmoil.
