School Preparation. Fun.

Percy and Nico both had a regular get-your-supplies type of school. I had an application school. What type of unfair schist is this? I was thinking it's just some math problems with reading mixed in, but there is a physical exam as well! I am not the strongest demigod out there, but maybe I don't need to actually do anything, maybe I could build my way in? I mean, the Eraserhead guy tried to train me, but he didn't like that I found it as fun rather than actual training.

"Valdez, you can't just automatically get into Yuuei. Work with me, and you might get in." I nodded, and he made his capture weapon fly at me. I dodged to the side and grabbed his scarf thing and pulled it towards me, him being dragged along with it. He used that as an opportunity to charge, but I sidestepped him and held a flaming finger close to him.

"Does this mean I won?" He nodded a little, and when he got up I saw the biggest schist-eating grin I've ever seen.

"And here I thought you'd be a tough fish to fry. Good thing you can fight a little, the physical exam is tomorrow." He sighed. "Finally you work with me," he muttered. I laughed awkwardly; I hadn't meant to cause a problem, I just couldn't focus on the training when I was in a new environment. Anything that moved caught my attention. I looked wherever I heard a noise. I may have zoned out a few times as well.

"So the exam is tomorrow? Can your favorite Latino ask what the physical exam is like?" I asked, trying to at least know what I was getting into. I have no idea what this world even has to offer, nor where our targets are.

"No," he said monotonously. Eraserhead started walking back inside, and I followed. Percy was with Present Mic, screaming to see who could yell/scream the loudest. Nico had multiple pillows over his ears to muffle the screams. I would've thought he would be used to screaming, with his dad's house being close to Tartarus and all. The screams of the suffering should be satisfying! Well, not suffering, and not satisfying, but at least the norm. Those two are screaming for the fun of it, so I guess that could be distressing. Eraserhead activated his quirk and Mic's scream was brought down a few notches. Percy was victorious. Nico was relieved. Mic was sad. Eraserhead was impartial. I went up to my room to change out of my "training gear," as Eraserhead calls it. Percy and Nico followed, so I guessed they had something important to say.

"Leo, we think we should go looking for the target tomorrow. We have spent about a month waiting around, while that monster is plotting our deaths," Percy said, Nico nodding along.

"I agree, but apparently my physical exams are tomorrow and Eraserhead would be furious if I missed it."

"So we plan around it." Nico said. He still gives me the creeps, not going to lie. He always has an aura of death and decay around him. I shrugged a little.

"I don't know when it ends. I know I have to be there at around 8. But that's as far as I know." We arrived in our room, and I grabbed my clothes. They sat on the floor and looked at me expectantly. I joined them on the floor.

"Its been a few months, and they still haven't given me back my sword. I'll have to ask Eraserhead today for it. I was really hoping for zero confrontation," Nico sighed. Our door opened, and Eraserhead looked in.

"I heard my name? Do you guys need anything?" I looked passed him, wondering if he was listening in, but he had a plate in one hand. He was probably walking from his room to the kitchen and just happened to hear his name.

"Oh, actually, one of us needs to ask something," I looked at Nico, who looked at me betrayed. Then he looked back at Eraserhead.

"Well, uh, I may or may not wanted to ask about my sword?" Eraserhead sighed.
