[Author's Note]

Hi, it's me again with a new chapter! I'm really sorry that I didn't get to update this story last week, and I made it slightly longer to appease my readers (hehe :D) I also want to share with you guys my cosplay on how I think Historia would look like if she didn't become queen - if she were still with the Survey Corps, so that's me again above hahahaha :D

Also, for those who haven't tried reading it yet, I'm plugging 'Secret Romantic' here once more - it's a Hanji x Female Reader AU fic, and it would really mean a lot to me if you guys checked it out :D

Anyways, let me know your thoughts regarding this chapter! Always keep safe, everyone!

I held Hanji closer to me as the ground started to shake even more violently, making sure that they didn't end up hurting themselves any further. The three of us could only stare in awe as the chapel began to fall apart, with rubbles falling in every direction, and Moblit stressed that we should get a good distance between us and the chapel in case anything happened.

"Do you think the others will be alright?" I asked warily to no one in particular, the fear creeping up my system as we helplessly watched the Reiss chapel collapse to the ground.

In a rough voice, Hanji answered somberly, "We could only hope that they are."

The three of us remained silent once more, and Moblit and I did our best to support Hanji, however, the ground literally cracked opened just a few distances away from us, and we paused in our tracks as we watched a massive titan crawl out from the underground cavern.

To say that its size was colossal remained a severe understatement.

It was easily twice the colossal titan's height, and it couldn't even stand up due to how big its body was - instead, it could only crawl on the ground slowly, with its entire front just scraping away as it did so.

To add to that, its body was so disproportionate, having very thin limbs, a large torso, and a head relatively small for the size of its figure. Though it was covered with skin, it notably didn't have much muscle - its skeletal system mostly protruding.

"What in the heavens is that?" Moblit asked softly, and I could ask the same thing. Not only was it massive, but it generated heat off its body as well, with the nearby trees bursting into flames as the titan passed by them.

"Over here!" I heard a familiar voice yell in our direction, and a glance confirmed that it was Jean as well as the others - with Eren and Historia among them, who looked battle-worn but were alright for the most part. A horse-drawn cart made its way over in our direction, and we helped lift Hanji so that they could lie down comfortably, while the rest of us sat down beside them.

Armin, who was at the front, turned to face us as he said, "That's Rod Reiss' titan, Historia's father. If it weren't for Eren's titan's hardening ability, we would've been crushed by the rubble from the collapsed cavern."

"From what we've heard, Rod Reiss tried to make Historia take the serum so that the founding titan could be 'restored' to its original users - the royal family," Jean said as he filled us in, and it didn't take long for Hanji to connect the dots.

"So to sum it up, Rod Reiss was after the founding titan's power, which is currently inside Eren after it was taken from one of Rod's children. However, unless it's in someone with Reiss blood, its full potential can't be used. But even if it's within a Reiss family member, they will be under the control of the first king's will, and will still refuse to liberate humanity from the titans. This means, the only way that Eren can utilize its power is with Historia's help," Hanji said softly, and the rest of us could only sigh as we started to understand what was really going on, even though it confused the hell out of us.
