Birds seemed to be welcoming Amy back to the world of the awake with their singing as she opened her eyes. She sat on the edge of her bed, and wondered about last night. Had it all been a dream? Nah, not a dream. That Mr. X guy had definitely spiked her drink. Why else would she have such strange hallucinations?
She got up, and walked into the living room. She wasn't from the area, and had been staying with her friend Dan. He always left the TV on all day for some reason, and today was no exception. It was on a news channel, they were talking about the economy or something. Amy didn't really pay attention to it. She poured herself a glass of OJ, and took a sip.
"In local news, there are no new leads on the torn-up roof of the Manhattan skyscraper. The roof, as well as the attic it was covering, were found destroyed earlier this morning. There are no eyewitness reports of anything happening, and webcams facing the roof were mysteriously cut off for several hours before coming back on and showing the destroyed roof."
Amy walked up to the TV. Had Mr. X been right? If the roof was destroyed, not everything could've been a hallucination. She didn't have a lot of time to think, as the bell rang. She put down the glass, and opened the door. Standing in the doorway was her friend Dan, completely battered up. "Dan!" she cried out, as he fell into her arms. She helped him to the living room, and closed the door. "Holy shit Dan, I thought you were dead!" she said. "I was. Didn't you see me get sucked up into that black hole?" Dan replied. "I did, but... Oh my God, I thought it was a hallucination." Dan looked at her. "Yeah, well, it wasn't. That hole led straight to Hell, literally." Amy looked at him, shocked. "But then... How did you escape?" Dan smiled, and turned his gaze away. "I didn't. I'm still there." He got up, and before Amy's eyes, he changed. His nose became smaller, his hair grew and changed colour. "I just needed you to let me in so that I could let my sisters in." Within seconds, Dan had changed into a young, rather hot woman. Her eyes were as a snake's, but at least her make-up was on point. Two identical women burst through the window, into the room. "You're coming with us," they said.
Suddenly, the front door burst open. "Really now?" a familiar voice said. "I would like a little say in that, if you don't mind." Mr. X walked into the living room, took his gun, and pointed it at the women. "Look at that. The Triplets. Tell me, what's so important about this girl here that Hell would send their worst-performing team to fetch her?" The Triplets hissed. "We're the most elite team in hell!" the middle one hissed at X. "Wrong honey, that's the team of Lilith and Mephisto. You know that," he replied. "I would give you a message to send to your bosses, but I'm kind of done with demons and I think your death would suffice as a message." Without hestitation, Mr. X shot all three Triplets dead in the head. They stumbled backwards, and fell down out of the window. "That'll take care of them for a while," Mr. X said.
He looked at Amy. "Say, about that protection thing..." she said. "Come with me. The car's waiting outside," he replied.
