Amy couldn't believe her eyes as the car drove up the country road. In the distance, a colossal house started appearing. Mr. X noticed her face. "What's wrong?" he asked. "That house... Is that your house?" she replied. X looked at the horizon. "Yeah, that's it. I like big houses. Don't like cleaning them, though. Good thing I have a butler," he said. "Hold on. You have a butler?" Amy asked, her eyes wide. "Yes. You'll meet him in a minute," X replied.
The car drove up to the gates of the house, which opened as soon as the car stopped. The car drove again, up to the front porch. There were two turning stairways that led up to a porch in front of the door. X opened the car door. "After you," he said. Amy got out, and took another look at the car. It was a limousine, a Rolls Royce to be exact. Whoever this Mr. X was, he had money. She took a look at the wheel, but couldn't see anything. The inside was completely obscured by the tinted windows. X got out as well, and closed the door. He snapped his fingers, and the car drove away. "Shall we?" he asked Amy, gesturing at the door. She nodded, and followed him.
The reception hall was huge. A big, wide staircase stood proud and tall right across the front door. Speaking of doors, they were everywhere. Amy counted them, there were at least six excluding all the doorless frames. A bald man came up to them. He had a mysterious, yet friendly aura about him. It was weird, Amy thought. "X, good to see you home," the man said. "And I see you brought a guest." The man looked at Amy with a friendly smile. "I told you, James. I'd come home with her alive," X replied, as he handed his coat to the man named James. "Amy, this is my butler James. James, Amy." Amy and James shook hands, and James took Amy's coat. "James, her luggage is in the Royce limo in the garage. Could you make sure it's in her room?" X asked. "No problem," James replied. X looked at Amy. "Come, I'll show you around," he said.
As they entered the living room, they found Watson, reading in a chair. She looked up. "Amy?" she exclaimed. She put the book down, got up, and hugged Amy. "Oh my God Amy, you're actually alive." X cleared his throat, and Watson let go. "Only thanks to X," Amy said, nodding at Mr. X. "So will you be living with us?" Watson asked. "For now, it's the best option," X interrupted. "At least until she can defend herself and take out a demon on her own." Watson looked at him. "Or she can just run with us like we always do. Where are we running next, X? Sao Paolo? Capetown? Fucking Timbuktu?" she said, getting more angry with every word. "No," X said, his teeth clenched. "We stay right here." Watson looked at him, surprised. "I'm done running. I'm done hopping from place to place just as we get settled. I'm done being a fucking coward. They want us? They can come get us, prying us from my cold, dead hands. From now on, we FIGHT." X turned around, agitated, and walked out, slamming the door behind him. Watson looked at the door, and scratched her head. "...I may have been a little too hard on him," she said. "Sorry you had to see that." Amy shrugged. "I've seen worse."
James entered the room. "Miss Amy, your room's ready. Will you please come with me?"

"Did you really expect that turning into some massive monster and taring up a skyscraper would work to catch him?" Mephisto glared at Lilith, but still said nothing. "I've told you for weeks now, my plan is going to work," she continued. "You really think my invasion of the ball was to catch him?" Mephisto shot back. "Or did you think that maybe I was helping your little plan move along?"
Lilith tilted her head up. "If that's the case, Mephisto, then you did a damn good job," she replied. "This had better work," Mephisto said. "Or it's your head that ends up on Lucifer's plate." Lilith sighed. "Yeah yeah, I know. Let's just get to work now."
