Elizabeth opened her eyes, but all the dust in the air forced her to immediately close them again. She felt around her. She was lying on the pavement, dust all around her. She heard a car pull up and stop. Curious, she opened her eyes, squinting. An expensive-looking black car was standing in the middle of the street. On the other side of the street, there was a massive gaping hole slapdash in between two houses. Two figures stepped out of the car, and walked over to the hole. "Yeah, that's definitely not a sink hole," the first figure said. "What do you think, James? Cover story, or cover it up before anyone notices?" The other figure sighed. "Cover story, definitely. Just make sure to dump a bunch of housing materials in the hole before everyone wakes up at 6 AM." The dust had settled, and Elizabeth was finally able to fully open her eyes. There was no doubt about it, this was her street. However, right there where her house should be, a large, gaping hole could be found. She got up.
"I think that there belongs to whatever the hell was once here," James said, gesturing at the other side of the street. Mr. X looked up. On the other side of the street, a girl, not much older than 15 years old, stood. Tears were rushing down her face. "Great, witnesses," he said. "Just what we need for a good cover story, people who've seen us saying it's not a sink hole." His hand moved over to his gun, but James stopped him. "There might be another way," he said. The girl walked over to the hole, and looked down into it. It was deep, you couldn't even see the bottom. "It's like staring right into the jaws of hell, isn't it?" Mr. X said. The girl nodded. "My parents were in that house," she whispered. Mr. X looked at his watch, annoyed. "Well kid, then your parents have been swallowed by the aforementioned jaws and are now enjoying eternal damnati- Ouch!" James had kicked X's shin, and gave him a stern look. "What's your name, sweetie?" James asked the girl. She looked around. No way these two creeps were getting her real name. She suddenly noticed an old Sherlock Holmes book, lying at the edge of the hole. Her father had always read that. "...It's Watson," she replied. "Well Watson," James replied, "I think it's best if you come with us."
