Mr. X was already in the bar room as Amy walked in. "Good morning," he said as he downed the last bit of his beer. "Did you sleep well?" Amy sat opposite of him at the table. "Eh, could've been better. The bed was hella comfortable though, so the few hours of sleep that I did get were probably the most enjoyable I've ever had." X got up and put the glass in the sink. "Good to hear, good to hear," he said. "You do seem quite well-rested."
"Goooooooood morning!" Watson made her presence known as she entered the room. "How long have you been here, X?" she asked. "Haven't left since last night. Stayed up all night drinking," X replied. Amy looked at X with wide eyes. "You drank all night? How are you not drunk?" He smiled. "X has an amazingly high tolerance," Watson explained. "God knows how it works." X opened the fridge. "Can I get the lovely ladies anything?" he asked. Watson rolled her eyes, Amy giggled. "I'll have some orange juice, please," she said, smiling. Watson stared at her from behind in disbelief. This wasn't how someone in her situation would usually act. For someone who'd just lost her friend, she was taking it a little too well.
"Watson!" Mr. X's voice woke her up again. "Sorry, what?" Watson asked. "I asked if you wanted anything to drink," X said. "Uhm, no thanks," she said. "Sory, I just... I gotta go." Watson turned around and quickly left the room, leaving X and Amy behind, flabbergasted. "She seems upset," Amy said. "Don't worry," X replied as he handed Amy her glass. "She'll come around."
The day progressed with no sign of Watson. As the night fell, James, Amy, and Mr. X were sitting together in the living room. "James, have you seen Watson today?" X asked. "Not since she stormed out of the bar this morning," James replied, drinking his brandy. "What in Hell's name did you say to her?" X shrugged. "Nothing. I just asked her if she wanted a drink and suddenly she stormed out." Suddenly, he stood up. James immediately got up and grabbed X's arms. "X, what's wrong?" His voice sounded slightly panicky. X shook James off, turned around, and walked towards the door to the courtyard. "There are demons on the terrain!" he said as he grabbed his gun and stormed out. James hestitated for a moment, then took off. He paused in the doorway, and looked around at Amy. "Stay here," he said, before running off after Mr. X.
