It normally happens when I'm in an OR

The feeling that all the blood had run cold in my veins

Where I couldn't feel my arms or legs

That I was drowning on Dry land

And nobody was there to save me.

"Dr Shepard?" I faintly heard voices call
"Derek?"
"Sir are you-"
My vision started to waver and the world around me began to spin before everything turned black

Meredith P.O.V

For once in my life I was actually enjoying shopping. I mean I never understood why women spent hours on their feet fawning over shoes or bags or 'the perfect dress' when something called 'the internet' existed. It just seemed like a waste of time

I'd only ever cared for baby shopping, but I put that down to mommy hormones making my head all fluffy and gooey

If I ever wanted something specific, like something sexy for Derek, I'd let Cristina or sometimes Amelia drag me to the store for a very quick pickup, but we'd be outta there in under half an hour, despite protests from whoever was with me.

That's why I was slightly miffed when my pager suddenly blared. Cris and I had just paid for our 'items' and were heading to get some lunch when I was paged 911 to room 2366.

"Huh I don't remember having any patients there" I told Cristina

"Damn I didn't know mommy hormones made you that forgetful" Teased Cristina as we headed back to my car

"Oh shut up" I replied, entering the 7 seater and putting my belt in

I was about to drive off when my phone rang, it was Miranda. She sounded frantic and extremely afraid when I answered

"G-grey you need to get your ass here now!" She almost screamed

Cristina looked at me in worry

"W-what's wrong what's happ-"
"2366 It's Derek, he collapsed and-"

My blood ran cold and I immediately hung up the phone, cutting Bailey off. I shot out of my driving space and sped off, speeding through every red light and stop sign.
