"Are you... happy?" I said painfully. "Now that you're doing this to me."

"Yes." There wasn't a trace of hesitation in Jade's voice.

I didn't understand how could one person change so much in a matter of around an hour. She had been so... sweet. I had known her to be innocent, naive and kind. But now... she just seemed so different.

I didn't know what she was thinking. I used to, even without using the soul connection. The one she destroyed.

I didn't like the way the Qwen was looking at me. He seemed so triumphant. He thought that he had won - no, he thought that the Qwen were going to win. But what was he planning? What did this famous Qwen general want?

"I'm glad," I mumbled.

She looked at me like I was insane.

"I could never make you happy, but I'm glad my demise did."

"You're not dead."

"Demise doesn't always mean death. And besides. My soul is dead." I blinked. "I'm glad you're happy... but that makes it harder for what I-I have to do to save you..."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Jade glared, "but I no longer care."

She would be ruined even if I managed to bring her back from the Qwen's growing ocean of lies.

I swallowed. My hands were shaking.

"How..." I whispered. "How could you... do this to me?"

She barked out a bitter laugh. "After how you lied, you'll be lucky if I don't destroy you."

A sigh escaped my mouth. "Jade... I..."

"Just shut up, will you?!" she snapped, green eyes glaring. "I don't want to hear your voice. I'm leaving, Jet, and I'll be back to destroy you. You should get ready for your inevitable death."

"No!" The word slipped out before I could stop it. "Don't, Jade!"

"You can't make me stop!" Jade hissed, her fists clenching. "Arvion." She looked at the Qwen. "Let's go now."

He opened his mouth to respond.

"I think not, you bastard!" a familiar voice stopped him.

Too familiar.

"No... why..." I blinked as his cloaked figure walked to the Qwen.

Lloyd's hand connected with the Qwen's face, his dark face flushed in rage.

"STOP!" Jade pushed him away, and he glared at her, his green eyes cold.

"I never liked you," he spat as he hit the Qwen again.

"Stop..." I managed to croak.

Immediately, he turned to me. "Jet! Are you alright?!"

"No! Why are you here?!" I forced my dry mouth to utter, because I had to.

"Because I felt it," Lloyd said simply.

A few more tears slid from my eyes. "Go back."

For the first time, he refused, "No, Jet. I will not." He looked at Jade and the Qwen.

"Arvion! Are you okay?" Jade said urgently and worriedly. "You weren't hurt too badly, were you?!"

"Jade... I'm fine..." the Qwen said.

"Bastard..." Lloyd hissed. He looked like he was about to hit the Qwen again.

"Stop it, Lloyd!" I shouted, my voice cracking in the middle. "Leave them both alone."

"No!"

I forced out a dark force field, blocking him from Jade and the Qwen, even though he could break it in a matter of seconds.

"Arvion!" Jade grabbed the Qwen's arm, rushing towards their road that stretched in the air.

I let my eyes close as I stopped holding myself up. "Jade... are you really going to... just leave like that?"

"Yes." Her voice came to me, breaking me again.

It was as if the kindness and love of her being was just a shell, hiding the monster within.

But wasn't I more of a monster?

A faint buzzing filled my ears.

Everything was my fault.

I could make it right again if she would just listen to me!

No.

I couldn't.

I had been wrong, and now I was paying for my sins.

But yet, I still couldn't let her go.

"Please don't... leave..." I tried to shout, but it came out as a faint whisper.

"I will never listen to you again, Jet. I'm leaving, now, and you can't stop me. And, I promise I will be back... to kill you."

Her words were the last thing I heard before I lost the rest of my senses to oblivion.
