The small black pegacorn sculpture lay clenched in my fist as I stared at it. The sculpture of Arva that Jet had made out of darkness three years ago, the one I stopped her from destroying.

I wanted to smash it into pieces. I wanted to keep it with me. I didn't know which one I wanted more.

"Jade, are you done yet?" Arvion's voice called from outside the mansion.

I had went in to get the things I wanted to bring and come across the sculpture, so proudly displayed on my desk.

"Almost," I shouted back. I could hear my voice sound hoarse.

I blinked at the sculpture. It was burning my palm, darkness against light. I remembered every time Jet had promised to always protect me.

And suddenly I couldn't bear it anymore.

Fiery light swirled out from corners of my room, circling the sculpture. It fought, almost like it was alive, a tiny pegacorn doing its best to escape this net. Then it shattered, and my heart shattered along with it.

Regret pierced through me, but I couldn't fix it. Just because Jet had made it didn't mean it wasn't mine.

"Jade?"

I stepped out of the house. "Yeah, I'm done. Sorry for the wait."

"Alright, you've got everything, right?" Arvion said.

I nodded. "Yep."

"Then, let's go after I inform my superiors that you're coming... Otherwise, they might attack you on arrival."

"Okay," I replied.

He stepped a few metres away, dialing on a communicator device. He was far away that I didn't hear a word he said. A few minutes later, he hung the device back on his white belt and walked back to me.

"It's done, Jade," he said.

"Okay." I took a deep breath. "Let's go. Which way?"

"I'll walk us there through light," Arvion replied.

"Oh! You're a Light Qwen?" I asked.

He nodded. "You know of them?"

"Well, kind of. I am one too!" I answered. "Though you probably know that. Do all of the Qwen have powers?"

"No, we don't," Arvion said. "Only some of us do. There are different powers, too, but most of us have light."

"Is there a reason?" I asked curiously.

"Not that we know of," he replied. "We should get going, Jade."

"Of course," I said quickly.

He took my right arm and closed his eyes. A path of light started appearing.

Then something started appearing in front of us, something red and orange and black.

It didn't look like light, not at all. I could feel the dark power radiating from it.

"Arvion!" I whispered. "Look!"

His eyes snapped open, shock matting the brown as we both stared at the thing in front of us.

"What is that?!" I said urgently.

"A portal." He bit his lip.

"What?! From where?!" I cried.

"Somewhere of the dark forces," he whispered. "We have to go. Now."

"Jade!" a familiar voice said just as I nodded.

I froze.

Jet?! It sounds so much like her, but Arvion said she wouldn't come back!

But I watched in shock as the familiar figure stepped out from the portal. It disappeared, and she stared at me.

I didn't say a word.

"Let's go!" Arvion snapped.

I still didn't move. I couldn't. My legs wouldn't listen to my command.

"Who are you?" Jet glared at Arvion, her ebony eyes glimmering.

"Go away." The words left my mouth before I knew what I was saying.

Jet blinked. "What?"

"Go away!" I shouted. "He's my friend. Leave me alone!"

"What? Jade, what are you talking about?!"

"You lied to me!" I yelled at her, tears streaming down my cheeks. "You made me trust you! I thought you already revealed everything three years ago, but those were also lies! How could you, Jet?!"

"How could I what?!" Jet stared at me, as if she was truly confused.

But we both knew she wasn't, didn't we?

Then her eyes widened, and I saw sickening conclusion in them. Emotions swirled through them like a black storm, anger, resolve, shock. They widened more, this time in anger.

"Leave my sister alone," she snarled at Arvion.

He jumped at being addressed.

"No, you leave me alone!" I screamed.

She was so infuriating! I had thought she might be mad at me for trying to leave; she definitely knew that was my plan, but no. She was mad at Arvion instead!

But then and again, she had never gotten mad at me.

"All you've ever done is hurt me!" I snapped. "How could you think you were protecting me?! You're such a liar!"

Jet turned to me, and there was a dead calm in her storm, a monster held back. "Jade, look. I can explain."

"No! Don't! Save me your words. You'll only feed me more lies again!"

"I promised to myself that I would be honest from now on, and I intended to be. But I can't do anything if you won't let me."

"Don't lie to me again!" I said furiously. "I won't let you draw me in again. I don't know how I believed you for so long. Arvion! I'm ready to go!"

Arvion nodded grimly. "Alright, Jade."

"No!" Jet protested, holding out her hand. Darkness swirled into it, and she started to aim at Arvion.

I stepped in front of him, as fast I could. "Stop it, Jet!"

The monster in her eyes exploded, and her hair and eyes turned white. Her skin was paler than before, almost like paper, and she glared at me with all the anger in the world.

I froze again.

What just happened?!

"She won't kill him because she doesn't want to hurt you, but I will," Jet said, but she didn't sound like herself.

"What?" I said with a glare.

"I am the demoness Siro," she replied, "and I have come to kill him for hurting who Mistress loves most."
