Jet was different when she made me train... She was so much stricter and didn't tolerate the slightest mistakes.
I ran around the track for a few laps before I started panting and went a lot slower. Wind swept past me and I realized it was Jet running past me.
"Come on," she said.
Though she wasn't running very fast, her speed was at a steady pace and she didn't falter a single step. I realized that each step was the same length as if she were a robot.
"But I--" I panted "--can't!"
I was not strong, physically or mentally or even emotionally and spiritually. I knew I was weak.
"Jade," Jet warned.
I ran after her silently. Well, maybe not so silently as I was panting and gulping for air.
"How can you run like this?" I groaned.
Jet glanced at me. "While you're asleep in the mornings I'm training. While you're asleep in the night I'm out there flying. What do you think?"
I gaped at her for a few moments. She ran past me yet again as I stood, shell-shocked.
"Jade," she snapped.
"Sorry," I sighed and kept struggling to run for a few more laps before I finally couldn't run anymore and collapsed on the ground.
Jet kept on running. Either she was oblivious that I had stopped or she simply didn't care.
I was willing to bet on the latter one.
Jet finally stopped, skidding to a halt. "Walk around the track, Jade. You can't sit."
Reluctantly I let her pull me to my feet and drag me around the track a couple more times.
"Lifting weights," Jet said shortly and I followed her back into the house.
She walked into a room. One entire wall was a cupboard and she opened that cupboard, taking out two huge metal dumbbells.
She handed them to me and I immediately fell to the ground under their weight. Jet sighed, took them from me and handed me another two, this time smaller.
This continued until I could lift the dumbbells. She made me lift them a hundred times before resting for two minutes and continuing. Then Jet took the dumbbells from me and shoved them back into the cupboard.
"Training's over," Jet said. "I'm going to take you out for a treat."
"What?" I asked when she didn't continue.
She smirked and I knew nothing good could come out of this.
Too late to get out of it.
Jet said quietly, "Remastia," dragged me outside where she whistled and--
Not that peg-on-a-corn again?!
I was right.
Arva.
Not you again.
"Yes, me! Got any problem with that?" To my shock I heard a rough voice say sarcastically.
"A-Arva?!" I whispered.
"Why so shocked?" the pegacorn said snarkily.
"Arva, I thought I told you not to speak until we were in the air," Jet chided.
"Why then?" I asked.
Jet smirked. "Because you would fall off her back and that would be more amusing than this."
"JET!" I shouted.
She shrugged nonchalantly and her shadow black wings grew from her back.
"Board me," Arva ordered.
I followed her command. Well, I tried. I couldn't get on the pegacorn. Her wings were in the way and besides, I was too short.
Arva sighed when she realized and lowered herself to the ground. My eyes widened. I never thought that she would be this considerate. Arva huffed when she heard my thought but didn't speak.
I climbed onto her back shakily.
"Let's get going then," Jet said.
Arva straightened herself and spread her wings.
"Um... I can't ride horses," I said but it was too late.
Arva had set off, running on the planet Uranus with her black-blue mane and tail flying. I gripped her mane with my hands and sides with my legs for dear life as her hooves pounded on the pale blue ground. Slowly, we started to ascend into the sky. Jet was already up there waiting, her black clothes, hair and wings contrasting deeply from her pale skin.
"You okay?" Jet called.
"N-no!" I said unsteadily.
Jet smirked. "Well, you're in for a wild ride then."
