"JUSTIN, GET THE DOOR!" Brooke called down the stairs. I sighed as I dragged myself off the couch into the hallway where I opened the door. "Hey." I stared at Aaron. "Can I come in?"
"What are you doing here?" I asked as I stepped back, allowing him inside.
"I came to see Brooke."
"Right."
"Can we talk?"
"I don't think we need to."
"Why not?"
"You made the right decision."
"What?" I nodded at the ring on Aaron's finger. "Oh, right, yeah."
"It made more sense."
"It did?"
"I just appeared one day and almost ruined what you had."
"You didn't ruin anything, I lo-" I covered Aaron's mouth with my hand.
"Don't say it, you need to say it to Chad not me." I removed my hand.
"But I can't bring myself to say it to Chad, not when it's you I want, I really do lo-" I covered his mouth with my hand once more.
"I said don't say it." Aaron crossed his arms, and I removed my hand. "BROOKE, AARON IS HERE!" I shouted upstairs before heading towards the living room.
"Justin, wait."
"I don't think there's anything else to say." I gave a weak smile, "Chad's a lucky guy." I said before turning away and closing the door behind me.***
"Brooke is going home this afternoon, so we can have a movie night." Mom said.
"Yeah."
"What's wrong love?"
"I told Aaron to stay with Chad and forget about me."
"Why?" She asked as she pulled me into a hug.
"I accepted my place at drama school in California and Chad proposed."
"Ah, I see."
"He asked me to help pick out a ring."
"I'm sorry love."
"Aaron kept saying he wanted me, but I told him to at least think about it and he chose Chad."
"I know that's tough."
"It's silly and I know I told him to stay with Chad but part of me hoped he'd still choose me."
"It's not silly love, it's not silly at all."
"No?"
"You listen to me Justin Andrew Honard, you're going to go to California to follow your dreams and become a world famous Actor."
"I don't know about that."
"I'm not finished, you're going to forget about Aaron and find a really hot and successful guy and you'll get married and live with your two cats in a beautiful, big house."
"I think you're going a bit over the top now."
"I'm not, it's what you deserve, you're amazing and soon everyone will see that."
"Thanks mom."
