Avery's POV

Jonah and I have been going to out for around 3 days. I don't know if we are dating or not. He hasn't said anything. He seems to know a lot about me, but strangely I know nothing about him. All I know is that his name is Jonah and he lives by himself in one of the village homes. He seems to keep to himself which isn't entirely bad, but I would like to know certain things. Like what his favorite food is, what his favorite color is, why he lives by himself, just things like that. I don't dare ask though. I'll let him tell me.
"Hello? Avery? Are you here?" Jonah yelled through my door knocking.
"Yes I'm here give me a second." I responded.
I went to the door to find him with roses in his hand and he was in a tux.
He scratched the back of his head and said, "Avery.... would you please go out with me... like be my girlfriend?" He asked shyly.
"Of course!" I practically screamed as I jumped into his arms. He hugged me back and handed me the flowers. I took them gratefully and invited him into my apartment. We talked for a while. He told me everything. His favorite food is chicken, his favorite color is blue, and he lives by himself because his parents were killed one night while they were on a walk. He told me he didn't want to keep any secrets from me since I'm his girlfriend. I felt guilty. I hadn't been honest with him at all. Now that I realize it, my new life here is a lie, and the bad thing is... I can't tell him. I can't tell him anything.
"So anything you want to tell me?" He asked snapping me out of my thoughts.
I thought about it. Deciding weather or not to tell him.
"Uh....... no there is nothing to tell. I've already told you." I said.
He raised and eyebrow. "You said you lived with your aunt. Why have a never seen her here?" He said.
Shoot.
"Um... because she um..... was killed? Yeah yesterday." I pretended to cry.
"I know that's not true Avery." He answered.
I stopped crying and sighed. I wasn't going to tell him the true truth but I can cover it up and tell part of the truth if I word it correctly.
"Well Jonah. The real truth is. I ran away. The fighting was true and I was sick and tired of it so I ran away."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, but running away doesn't solve all the problems. If people are looking for you. They will always find you." It was almost as if he was warning me of something. Something he couldn't tell me. Something I needed to know, "I've got to get going. See you later Avery." He finished and left without another word.
"Well that was strange." Something said. I jumped.
"Wh-who's here?" I asked like a small child.
There was no response.
"WHO'S THERE" I said yelling this time. All of a sudden a villager child walked out of the closet. I grabbed a glass vase, knowing I wasn't going use it on a child, but just to scare her a little. "Why are you in my apartment?!" I screamed and yelled.
She looked as if she was about to cry. "I'm sorry I wasn't spying or anything I thought this was my room and then I saw someone here so I thought someone was in my room. I ran into the closet when I realized it wasn't my room." She looked at the ground and let out a sniffle.
I eased up. "Hey, it's ok I did something like that with my neigh-" I trailed off. I was not going to reveal anything about my real past. Nothing that could give me away. Nothing to bring back memories, "Sorry, just forget about that. Um...... so what's you name. I'm Avery."
She smiled at me. "Sarah! My name is Sarah."
That name hit me like a ton of bricks. Sarah was my best friends name. Sarah Barnes. I tried to hide any expression on my face but didn't do a very good job.
"What's wrong? Did I say something?" Sarah asked me with a worried look.
"Um, no sorry I just... just had a moment. I'm ok now," I said, "So Sarah should we get you back to your room?"
"Yes please!" she answered. I walked her back, "Do you want me to come in?"
"Uh no....  I'm good thank you and I hope to see you around."
"Ok yeah see you around, goodbye Sarah."
She walked inside and slammed the door. Next I heard screaming and yelling. It was not Sarah's voice. Then I heard crying. That was Sarah. I wasn't going to intrude but I felt bad. I think she is keeping a secret. Just like I am to Jonah, and just like I think he is to me. This day has had a lot of secrets.

Chapter 5, yay! It's one of my longer chapters I've done. I think next chapter (or the chapter after that. One of them.) is going to be even longer. YAY!
Well that's about it.
