Avery's POV

Jonah and I had our first date today. It was amazing. He is even more magical in person. Just like you would see in the movie. He told me a few more things about himself, nothing extremely important though. Once again he asked me if I was hiding anything. Why he keeps questioning me? I don't know the answer to that.
"Hello? Anyone there?" I heard a small voice say from my door. I know for a fact only one small girl would be knocking on my door.
"I'm coming Sarah! Give me a second!" I said running toward the door. I opened it expecting a happy chirpy little girl like there normally is, but today I saw a little girl with puffy red eyes, tears stained on her cheeks and no smile.
"Can I come in?" She asked looking behind her.
"Sure?" I said not really sure what was going on.
She came in and hugged me. I heard a whimper escape from her lips. I picked her up and carried her over to my bed and sat her down, sitting down beside her myself.
"What going on Sarah? Are you ok?" I asked concerned.
"N-no.", she said and started crying. I hugged her and let her calm down a little.
"What going on Sarah? You know you can tell me anything." I said.
"Yes I know," she sniffled, "and that's what I'm going to do."
"Ok go on, I'm listening." I responded.
"Well I should just start from the beginning," she started, "my mom died a few days ago, she was killed, by someone, I don't know who. My dad died when I was born and my mom just recently re-married. My step-dad had never been very nice to me. There was something about him the day he walked into my life. He always told me I meant nothing to him. He always yells, and screams, and hits me." She looked down at the ground and let out another whimper. I cooed comforting words in her ear and that soothed her.
"You don't have to continue if you don't want to. You know that right?" I told her.
"Yes I know... but I want to," she said and started back up, "Today he told me to come over to your house, talk with you, then come back. I left a little confused but then I heard him taking to someone. He said something like, 'I'm almost done with the girl. I'm leaving her here once the job is done and we can move onto stage two.' After I heard that I ran straight here." She finished and her lip quivered.
I hugged her not really knowing what to say. There were a few thoughts that went through my mind. What did he mean by stage two? It seemed fishy, but I didn't want to worry her. She stayed in my grip for quite awhile. We were both quite. I realized that was the secret she had been hiding. Everyone is telling me their secrets. I need to tell someone mine, before it kills me inside. I know I could tell Sarah, but with all she's going through..... I don't want to worry her more. I'll tell Jonah after she leaves. I need to tell him.
After give or take an hour Sarah finally calmed down. I told her I'd walk her back to her apartment. When we got there Sarah didn't even need to just walk in. We were greeted by a unforgiving face. One that you would never want to cross.
"Hello step-father. I'm back." Sarah said and walked in without saying goodbye.
Her step-father grunted, "I can see that, brat. Now go to your room."
She looked at me then at him with tears in her eyes, then made her way to her room. Her step-father stared at me disapprovingly then slammed the door in my face.
"Wow." I mumbled, "Poor girl." And I made my way back to my apartment.
After a few minutes I called Jonah. He came over right away. I told him everything. I mean everything. I didn't leave one detail out. After I finished he looked partly pained, but partly happy. I don't know why.
"Thank you Avery." He gave a small, devilish, smirk, "That's all I needed." With that he walked out.
"What. Just. Happened?!" I practically screamed. I was upset. He didn't try to comfort me. He didn't try to support me. He looked almost happy that I told him. Like he already knew. I held them back for as long as I could but my tears won. They spilled out and I cried myself to sleep.

When I finally woke up it was around 2 a.m. I rubbed my eyes and turned on the light. I saw Jonah's jacket hung on the coat rack. There is no use for me trying to get back to sleep, and I know Jonah doesn't go to bed until late. Like 4 o-clock in the morning late, so I decided to just go on over to his house. Maybe I missed something froM when I told him earlier. Hopefully. I made my way over to his house, and when I was about to knock on the door, I heard voices. One was Jonah's and one was a voice I recognized from somewhere, but I couldn't put my finger on who's voice it was. I know it's not right to eaves drop, but something was telling me I needed to. I went to the window and looked in. There was of course Jonah, but the other man I did know. It was Sarah's step-father.

"Why is Sarah's step-father at Jonah's house?" I thought a loud, but not too loud. I decided to listen.
"She told me sir. She had my trust. We can strike whenever needed." I heard Jonah say.
"Very good, boy. That idea of marrying that brat's mother. Killing off her mother, then making the brat friends with Ashley, or Avery was a great idea. The brat has no idea what's going on," He chuckled, "I'm ready to get rid of her. I hate pretending to be a father. The things we do for Master.", he finished.
"Yes the things we do, I had to act like her boyfriend, act like I loved he." Jonah said laughing, "And she believed every last bit."
"Once again great job, you will make a great guard." Sarah's step-father finished.
No.... no it can't be. Jonah. Jonah is a guard. One of Herobrine's guards. This has all been a messed up trick. At least I know Sarah wasn't in on it. Sarah. Sarah, she's in as much danger as I am. I need to get out of here. I need to take her with me. I ran as fast as I could back to the apartment. I packed up and much of my stuff as I could. And ran to Sarah's apartment. I bursted in and ran to her room.
"Sarah come on get up. Pack your stuff we need to go. We need to go now." I practically yelled pulling out her suitcase and throwing things in it.
"Huh? What's going on Avery?" She asked sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"I'll explain later but right now we need to go. We are both in danger." I said. That woke her up a little and she helped me finish packing her things.

I picked up her bag and my bag. Wrote a note for the lady who owns this apartment building, saying that I need to go, and I took one of her horses and wagons. I added the money with the note set it on the front deck, picked up Sarah, and ran for the horses and wagon area. I put her in the back of the wagon along with the suitcases, and hooked up the horses to the wagon. I jumped in the front so I could steer the horses and we took off. Hot tears stinging my face, but I kept going not looking back. I don't know where Sarah and I are heading, but I know it's as far away from this place as I can get. I will never forget the feeling I felt tonight. I felt betrayed. I can not trust anyone besides Sarah anymore. I guess Jonah was warning me. That if people are looking for you they will always find you. I don't know why he warned me and I don't care. All I know is that Jonah is a traitor. And I will never forget his betrayal.
