Okay so today I was in Spanish class. My teacher is super chill. There were 4 main people that spoke. Three were my friends Aleta, Evander (my school crush), and Zeno (Evanders younger brother). One was Deion. Deion is nice but super annoying and the bad kind of weird. You know?So Deion was talking about our french teacher from last year and how she thought that sexism only happens to girls. Which it doesn't, but girls are the main focus of it. Deion also talked about how there was no way to say non-binary in the French language. The convo went like this.
Deion: Yeah the french teacher thinks that sexism only happens to girls
Me and Evander: It doesn't but girls are the main focus of it
Deion: There are also only two genders in the french language. Male and female
Teacher: Same with the Spanish language but people in Mexico are trying to come up with ways to say the other genders
Deion: The people at this school, with the way they look and sound, a lot of them seem to be not the gender that there parts are.
Everyone in the class: Deion don't assume, that's really not okay. (A/N there were only 6 people and myself taking Spanish)
Evander: You could hurt a lot of people's feelings by assuming things like that. I know you aren't trying to be mean but you really shouldn't assume.
We then spent the rest of class talking about how we shouldn't call people that are neither male or female, they. Since we already use they/them in conversations that don't have to do with an individuals gender. It only opens up the opportunity for people to invalidate you. Instead we should find a different term that is to the best of it's ability, conflict free.
We also talked about how if everyone was referred to as they/them then the people who identify as she/her or he/him would feel like they do not exist anymore or are not valid. It would only cause more problems then solve them.
We also talked about how gender isn't your biological sex. Gender is the sex you feel you are or should be. That may be neither sex or both or any combination that you feel suits you. You may not have the genitals that match your gender but that doesn't make you any less valid than a cisgender individual. Remember that.
The teacher decided that it was good for us to talk about all this so she went and made coffee and toast. She just sat there sipping her coffee and munching her toast instead of teaching us Spanish like she was supposed to.
Alsooooooooooo...

In other words this was our convo word for word... (Be prepared for very bad gay panic texting grammar disasters. Everything inside the () is my thoughts and/or commentary)
Me: Hiia how was your day?
Her: Good! How was yours?
Sorry I don't write back earlier my iPod died
Me: It's okay
Mine day was to say the least, interesting
During my Spanish class we didn't even do Spanish
Instead we had a giant discussion about gender identities and sexuality's
Thankfully there are no homophobs at my school!
Or transphobic people!
Her: Oh that's good.
And it sort of does have to do with Spanish, because everything in Spanish is super gendered, so it's important to know how to respect people's pronouns when speaking.
Me: (internally swoons because that's just so sweet of her to be thinking about respecting everyone's pronouns and all like klshvkasvbskvaukihcas she's just so amazing! Gay panics and dies.)
Yeah true
But the way we got to that conversation had nothing to do with Spanish lol
We were talking about French Class
Her: You said you had Spanish class?
Oh, in Spanish you were talking about French class?
I'm confused.
(Aww I have to explain it to her! My answer was so eloquent)
Me: Yeah lol (My answer was not eloquent in any way *mentally face palms*
Still me: The teacher was drinking coffee and eating toast
She just let us talk instead of teaching us
So we talked about our French class while in Spanish class
Funny how the world work s that way
*works
I gtg play guitar with my dad
We're writing a new song!
Ttyl
Her: Okay! Have a good night!
Me: You too!
(end of texting convo)
So anyways I most likely outed myself as lgbtq+ or she thinks I'm trans cause I said that there were no transphobic people. I am for a fact not trans I just want anyone that is too feel safe and valid cause I'm a nice person :) unless I'm talking to someone mean :)
:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Question: Have you ever came out to your crush? Have you ever texted your crush? Have you ever told your crush you have feelings for them? I changed my pfp, do you like it?
My pfp ↗️
It looks like me and it's what I would want to wear. I think it suits me. Do you?
Question 5 of the LGBTQ+ comment challenge: Coming out story? My answer: I was at a sleepover with 4 of my irl friends and we were talking quietly instead of sleeping. It was about 2 am. We were about to fall asleep when I whispered "I'm bisexual." I'm not bisexual but at the time I was new to the lgbtq+ community and I didn't know much. All I knew was that I liked both girls and boys. That's why I thought I was bisexual. So my friends were like "Oh cool btw Ophelia is a lesbian." I was like "What?! I didn't know that!" Then they were all like "Everyone knows. How did you not know?!" So I was like "I didn't know, that's how I didn't know. Goodnight you guys I'm tired." They all said goodnight and we fell asleep. That was the first time I had ever come out to anyone.
