I know what you guys are thinking. MAYBE I should have invited France inside. But I thought it was better not to. The fear of abandonment will pass.

As I hopped in the shower ready to wash off the remnants of today, I heard a notification pop up on my phone. I rolled my eyes and didn't bother to check it because I knew exactly who it would be.

As I took a bath instead of a shower, I soaked off all the dirt and grime from the day's adventure. When I came out of the warm water, I took my toothbrush and cleansed my teeth. Then I came out of the bathroom to search my closet for something to sleep in. Because the night was cold, I decided on a pair of black sweatpants and an oversized hoodie.

As I went to my bed where my phone rested, I was checking my messages and saw five new ones. One from Dad, three from Mr. Persistent (that's what I am going to save him as in my phone), and one from the group chat that Dom made for herself, Collin, and me.

Messages

Dad: Did you get dinner?

Unknown: Guess who?

Unknown: You can answer your messages, you know that, right?

Unknown: Fine, don't answer.

Group Chat: I won't be at school tomorrow. I have the flu - Collin

It seems to me that Dom didn't see Collin's message because I knew she would have answered had she seen it.

I quickly replied to all the messages from most to least important. I told Dad that I ate and that I'm okay. Then I told Collin in the group chat that I hoped he felt better. After, I answered France, but before I could send it off, I got a call. Guess who?

...

...

...

FRANCE.

Anyone could have guessed it though. I answered the call and immediately heard an overly dramatic scream.

"What if I was dying? You're not a good friend."

"Who says we are friends?" I asked the child.

"Ouch, I notice how you take pride in hurting my feelings."

"It's a hobby of mine," I replied, smirking, even though he couldn't see me.

"So why didn't you answer my messages, Darling?"

"Well, I was taking a bath. Am I not allowed to do that anymore?"

"Well, yeah... but you really hurt my feelings," he said, sounding hurt, but I knew he was faking.

"Anyways, France, could you stop acting like a child?"

"I don't wanna. It annoys you, so it's fun," look at this doofus.

"I don't appreciate it."

"So since you had so much fun tonight, will you sit with us for lunch tomorrow?"

I was seriously contemplating it. I really did have fun, plus Ale and I are okay. So I could probably do it, but only if Dom and Collin could sit with them too.

"Hellllllooooooo...." he said, pulling me from my thoughts.

"Sure, but only if Dom and Collin can too."

"Oh, sure, that's no problem. As long as I can hang with you, Darling."

"So France, it seems I don't know your favorite color."

"It's royal blue, and you?"

"Baby pink."

"Oh, so girly."
