Hinata sat on a bench, kicking his legs back until their feet hit the floor, then forward again. Kenma and Kuroo were in a line for ice cream just in front of the bench. Hinata would've joined them, if it weren't for the air conditioning in the building making them chilly. Plus, Kuroo and Kenma looked different when it was just the two of them together– not necessarily happier, but a different kind of happy. Hinata was content giving them some little moments alone while he watched from the sidelines. The pair came walking back to Hinata, Kenma holding two ice cream cones in his hand. He extended one out to the ginger, who took it despite his chilliness. "Kenmaaaa, I told you I was–"
They were cut off by Kenma tossing his red jacket onto Hinata's head. "Now you won't be cold,"
Hinata pulled the jacket off of his head, revealing a wide smile. They hastily put on the jacket, doing their best not to get ice cream on it. Then he stood, and the trio began walking around the building.
"Hey Hinata," Kuroo said, looking down to meet his eyes. "You're moving soon, right?"
"Mmhm," they replied, mainly focused on the ice cream he was currently eating.
"What school are you transferring to? Maybe we'll get to play against each other,"
Hinata's eyes widened in excitement, thinking about the new team he'd be joining. Kenma chuckled a little. "Is that even a question?"
"Karasuno, obviously!" Hinata said with a grin. Kuroo nodded.
"Oh yeah, cuz of the–"
"The Tiny Giant!"
"Yeah," Kuroo looked up again. "Our team hasn't played Karasuno in forever, has it?"
"Yes we have," Kenma replied. "A couple months ago."
"Oh, yeah. They were tricky," Kuroo laughed. "I doubt we'll have another practice game with them anytime soon, though,"
Hinata looked up with a newfound determination in their eyes. "We'll just have to play each other at Nationals,"
Kuroo's eyebrows raised a little. "Karasuno hasn't made it to Nationals since the Tiny Giant, y'know,"
"That doesn't matter to Shoyo," Kenma said, looking at his ice cream instead of the people next to him. "He already has his mind made up. They're gonna work hard with their new team to get to Nationals, no matter what any other team thinks,"
Hinata's eyes widened a bit. I wasn't expecting that, he thought. They shook his head, looking back to Kuroo. "Yeah, what he said!"
Kuroo put his hands up defensively. "Okay, damn,"
"Does your friend know you're transferring there?" Kenma questioned. Kuroo scrunched his eyebrows in confusion.
"You have friends other than us?" He questioned. Hinata glared at him, wishing Kenma wasn't in between them.
"What's that supposed to mean?" They responded defensively. "I have plenty of friends! Kenma, shove him for me,"
Kenma shoved Kuroo half-heartedly, whose hands were up defensively once again. "Hey!" Kuroo said to Kenma.
"Am I supposed to say no to Shoyo?"
Kuroo groaned and rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Who's your friend?"
Hinata opened his mouth to say something, then pressed their lips together once again. "I dunno his name," he admitted. Kuroo snorted, making Hinata huff in frustration. "Come on man, he's just cautious!"
