Chapter 9 Interesting Happenings

I could not believe he was cheating on me, but in a way I guess I knew all along. It didn't matter, I wouldn't take him back. No matter how many idiotic texts he sent me. 
'I love you:(', 'I'm sorry babe :(', 'Take me back ?', 'It was all her', and my favorite : 'I just heard our aong on the radio and started crying..just thought you should know :('. It was pathetic. Really it was. Why would he even think to apologize before I'd even had time to forgive him? 
Jessica wanted to teepee Olivia's house. I said I didn't care what they did. Because I guess Joey and Ben wanted to, too. 
"Actually I think Matt said her parents would be gone tonight anyway so..its a good time.." I said to her. 
"More like perfect time." Ben said. 
"What are you guys doing " Her mom asked. 
"What? Oh um were gonna play Uno tonight.." Jessica said glancing at me. 
"Funn." Her mom replied walking off. 
We were going to leave at 9:30 because her parents went to bed early and it was dark. I ran upstairs to get toilet paper when Joey grabbed my hand. I looked up. 
"Come here a sec." He said. He dragged me into his room and shut the door. I sat down on his bed when he let go of my hand. 
"Are you ok?" He asked me, sitting in his rolley computer chair across from me. 
"Well Joe, I've been swell...How about you?" I replied looking deep in thought. He laughed a bit. 
"Really, Al?" he said looking into my eyes. I crumbled. 
"I'm uh..not feeling..to well." It didn't take long for my lips to meet his. I collapsed on his lap and he ran his hands through my hair. I had to pull away to breath. The feeling of having him this close to me..close to me at all was an amazing thing. He kissed my chin and I quivered with happiness. 
"You are an amazing kisser, Joe." I said. He laughed again. Then his door opened and I flew back onto the bed before anyone could see anything. 
"Are you guys coming?" Ben asked. 
"Erm, yeah." Joe said grabbing his sweatshirt, "Lets go." 

When we got to her house there was one light on, upstairs. I started us off by throwing toilet paper in the bushes by the sidewalk. Jessica teepeed a tree and Joe worked on the house. Ben ran around the yard putting toilet paper on the fence. All of the sudden we heard a voice. 
"Hey who's down there?" Oh my God. It was Skylar. I opened my mouth to talk but Joe shook his head and grabbed my hand so we could run back to Nessica's house. Ben and Jessica started laughing and I chimed in. When we got back to their house Joe collapsed in the ditch. 
"Tonight was amazing." He said. I stood by him. Ben and Jessica went inside. I layed down next to him. 
"Tell me about it." I smiled. 
"Alley, we need to talk." He said. 
"What?" I replied. My heart was thumping in my chest being close to him drove me crazy.. 
"Whats going on with us?" He asked slowly, looking at me. I turned to look at him. 
"What do you mean..." I replied casually. 
"You know. Us. The past few days?" I sighed. 
"I don't know Joe why?" 
"Because, is this just a little fling or could it be long term.?" i sighed again. 
"You know it can't be long term. Next year you'll be in college and I'll still be in high school.." He grabbed my hand. 
"Well. Until next year, I think we should make the best of it." He smiled at me. I squeezed his hand. 
"Agreed. But..do we tell them..?" I said. 
"No, just me and you.." He smiled at me. I reached up to kiss him. 
"I've wanted this for so long.." I said. 
"Oh you have no idea.." He said.
