"(Y/N)!"

It had been quiet.  The peace in the silence was something you had taken for granted previously, but now, when there was very little of it, you appreciated every single quiet moment.

The calm before the storm of people waking up was nice.

"(Y/N)?"

You turned over in your mat, shielding your eyes with your arm as the culprit trying to wake you up now starting shaking you.

"(Y/N), wake up!"

You kept still, trying to ignore the bustling outside of your tent and ignored the male standing over you. He kept shaking you, not helping the smile that started to crawl over your face.

"Toph, come see if (Y/N)'s awake, please! They're not getting up!"

At the mention of Toph you groaned and stretched, pushing the monk boy back from you. Aang smiled at you and rushed out of your tent, assuring the rest of the group that you were alive and well and awake.

Your head buzzed with a dull pain and you pressed the heel of your palm into your eye to try and subdue it. It didn't work and you mentally scolded yourself, getting changed into your usual outerwear and managing your hair.

You exited the tent and smiled half-heartedly to Katara who was bending water near the shore of the pond you all had rested near. You sat down beside Zuko, who was watching Katara.

"Good morning," Zuko glanced towards you, a small smile present on his face. He looked cute after just waking up — his face was a bit puffy and his hair was messier than usual and he had an overall more calm demeanour after waking up.

You yawned in response, leaning your temple into your hand, still trying to fend off the headache. Zuko kept his eyes on Katara's graceful moves and he glanced at his own hands.

"Do you think I could do that?"

You hummed with a slight shrug, not wanting to speak this early. The sun was barely poking above the trees, for Roku's sake!

Zuko glanced down at you and held his hand against your forehead. "You feel warm."

Katara dropped her bending and rushed over to you, feeling your face with the back of her hands and nudging your chin up to look into your eyes.

"Do you feel all right?"

You shook your head. The headache was starting to grow worse as Katara started freaking out.

Toph, who you hasn't seen yet, now emerged from her tent with hair wild and face unimpressed. "Can you guys shut up?! Some of us are trying to sleep!"

You turned to look at her and you sighed, pushing Katara off of you and stalking towards the blind girl. You pulled her into a hug and shooed everyone away as you dragged her back into her tent.

"(Y/N)? I only think so 'cause only Aang would hug me like that and he's the one that woke me up."

"Toph," you whined, trying to pull her onto her bed roll with you. "I don't feel good."

"So? Get Katara to help."

You made a noise of disagreement, finally pulling her down onto you and wrapping your arms around her tightly.  She wriggled around for a moment before sighing and relaxing into you.

"(Y/N), please let me go."

"No," you pouted before leaning back and bringing Toph with you.  She groaned, but still tucked against your body.  You were a bit bigger than her albeit the same age.  "You're making me feel better."

You glanced down at her and her face was flushing, shoulders hunched to her ears and her eyebrows furrowed.

"I doubt that."

"Nope, I feel like running a marathon."

Neither of you spoke after that, so you decided to lean your head on Toph's head and tangle your legs with hers, making sure to keep her feet from the ground.  You closed your eyes and hummed, pecking her forehead quickly.

"Good night, Toph."

"It's the morning," she whispered.  She listened to your heartbeat that steadied as you fell asleep.  She enjoyed the rhythmic timing of your breaths with your chest and almost fell asleep before she put one of her feet against the ground.

Someone was approaching the two of you and Toph wanted to untangle from you.  From their footsteps, it was Zuko.

"Toph, (Y/N)—"

Toph sent a pebble his way and Zuko shouted in disdain, now running back from the tent.  She chuckled and cuddled closer to your sleeping form, enjoying the peace and quiet.
