(Y/N) grabbed his phone, taking a deep breath before smiling at himself in the mirror. He quickly texted his little sister, letting her know that he was leaving. He grabbed his bag and locked the front door behind him after he exited the house. He smiled to his date, who was standing by his car.
Zuko smirked and pulled (Y/N) into a hug, the latter kissing his cheek. Zuko helped him in, closing the passenger door behind him and hopping into the driver's seat.
"Where are we going?"
"Just a special little place. Happy birthday, again." Zuko took (Y/N)'s hand and kissed the face, smiling when his boyfriend chuckled and leaned over to kiss his cheek. "You're the best, honestly."
Zuko laughed, shaking his head. "I think you already took up that position, bub."
(Y/N) chuckled and watched the road ahead of them, enjoying the soft music playing over the radio as Zuko drove to their destination. Both males were silent, simply enjoying the other's company.
Zuko pulled up to a very special spot, making (Y/N) smile with pure adoration. "You remember our first date here?"
"First date, first kiss—"
"Where you asked me to be your boyfriend." (Y/N) leaned over and kissed Zuko, and resting on cheek while Zuko's hand was on the nape of (Y/N)'s neck. They pulled away and got out, Zuko taking his boyfriend's hand and pulling him to the gazebo in the middle of the park.
Sokka and Aang stood there with large grins streaked across their faces. (Y/N) waved to them as they exited, showing off a picnic blanket with the couple's favorite foods piled on the blanket and in the basket. Zuko helped him down as (Y/N) gaped at the romantic scene.
"Is today a special day? Because I completely forgot and feel like a complete—"
"It is sort of special. First kiss."
"How sentimental and sweet are you?!" (Y/N) attacked Zuko's mouth with his own, kissing the boy passionately and making Zuko fall backwards. There was a short giggling from afar and (Y/N) pulled back from a red Zuko. He looked over and saw his little sister and Katara laughing at them.
"Screw off, Suki!" He laughed and kissed Zuko again, starting to eat with him.

Zuko had brought (Y/N) back to the car when it started to drizzle, the couple laughing and shaking their clothes and hair out. (Y/N) looked over to Zuko and leaned over, kissing his cheek. He looked over at his wonderful boyfriend and laughed. "I'm sorry for the rain, bub."
"You don't control the weather! Don't apologize for something you don't have a say in, alright? Now, where to next?"
"Why do you think we're going someplace else?"
"I know that look on your face. You have something up your sleeve still and I want to know." (Y/N) smiled triumphantly as Zuko sighed and rolled his eyes playfully. "Oh, c'mon, Zuko! Tell me!"
"You'll see."
"Oh, that's not fair!"

They pulled up to a small building; it had obviously been a house but the large sign on the front changed that. (Y/N) was brought to tears—this was the ice cream shoppe that his mother would bring him to as a child. He remembered when he brought Zuko here for one of their anniversaries.
"Kena is a really nice lady and she has the best ice cream! Her sons are so cute, too, and very polite." "How old are they?" "Don't be jealous, they watched me grow up."
"Why did you bring me here?" (Y/N) turned to his already-unbuckled boyfriend before unbuckling himself.
"I thought about it the other day and knew I had to bring you here." Vague, but (Y/N) didn't bother questioning him. Both males got out of the car and ordered their ice cream. (Y/F/F) for (Y/N) and Fireworks for Zuko.
"Thank you, Kena!"
"You're welcome, kiddos!"
(Y/N) sat down, not paying much to his lagging boyfriend. He turned to ask Zulu a question and he didn't see him. "Zuko, are you okay—"
"(Y/N) (Y/M/N) (Y/L/N)."
"Oh my—"
"These past two years have been the most amazing of my entire life—literally." Zuko laughed and fixed himself on his knee. He held a small burgundy box in his hands, trembling with nerves and anxiety. "You are the absolutely, positively best thing that has ever happened to me and I never want to lose you. Katara and Suki got the whole gang to help me plan this day for the past few weeks because I've been way too nervous thinking of your answer.
"You told me that you've been afraid to get married—scared you would be abandoned like your birth mom. I swear on my life that I will never leave you or hurt you purposefully or anything like that." He said started crying, stuttering over his words. (Y/N) covered his mouth with both of his hands, tears running down his face as well.
"What I'm trying to get out but am struggling with is, (Y/N)—will you do me the greater honor and allow me to call you my husband? Will you marry me?"
"YES!" (Y/N) launched himself at Zuko, latching onto his mouth with his own and bringing both onto the wet ground. Zuko pulled back from (Y/N) and pushed the ring onto his finger, kissing him after.
"WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!" (Y/N) screamed into the sky, pulling Zuko up and and into a long, passionate kiss once again. He murmured against his lips, "We're getting married."
