The blood pounded in his ears. Hisr heart thudded in his chest. His hands shook and His feet tingled. His vision disfigured, as if he were looking through a fish-eye lens. He had to get away. he couldnt stay in that damned classroom any longer. he couldn't look at it. There was too much of a risk of someone laughing at him or making fun of him. he was stranded.

He gripped his hands on the side of the desk so tight that his knuckles turned a light grey.

He breathed heavily as more people flooded in the classroom. He heard people whispering runours and rude things about him. This one kid walked over to karkat and hit him in the back of the head. The teacher wasnt here yet and he began to silently cry,

He was so scared, that was- untill, his knight in shining armour showed up, dave strider.
"Heyy..uh..are you allright?" He whispered, crouching infront of karkats desk. He shook his head frantically and breathed heavily. "Hey, its ok- you need to calm down ..ok? Take my hand-" he put his hand out and karkat took daves hand and squeezed it.

"Okay, lets get youre mind off whatevers wrong..look at me..look at me sweetie." Dave tapped karkats face and moved it to look at dave. "My names dave. Dave strider. Tell me youre name," he spoke softly and karkat looked at him. "I..uh..uhm..my names k-karkat. Yeah..karkat vantas." He nodded and dave smiled "good job!, thats a lovely name. Ok..can you come with me? The class is ending in a few seconds and im going to get you out early so we can work on calming you down more..okay?"

Karkat nodded slowly and dave smiled, standing up "perfect, ok, gather Youre stuff and we'll go."

Karkat quickly got his stuff together and put his bag on his back, shakily staring at everyone and gulping, dave put his hand out and karkat took it, dave walked out the class with him and dave took him to the side in the hall.

"Okay karkat. I want you to take a biiig deep breath, and i want you to then breathe out..and do it a few times.." he whispered. "Look- just like me," he demonstrated it "in...out."

karkat choked on his second breath a bit but slowly breathed back in and out again and blinked hard.

dave grinend and humemd "shit man- you look familliar..do you got a brother?" dave questioned, dropping the overly caring side of him and returning to normal douche mode,

"i uhhh, yeah. his names kankri vantas. hes a 8th year." karkat whispered and dave snapped his fingers "ooohh yeah! my brothers friends with him." he grinned showing off his teeth and karkat smiled too.

"so..you must be the troll he was talking about then? my bro said someone was coming over next week and their brother was coming too..so..is it you?" karkat nodded and sniggered "yeahh-i think so! kankris dragging me along." he huffed and dave laughed "oh darn- well..we can hang out. okay?" he nudged his shoulder a bit and karkat seemed completely calmed down.
