“Be safe, don’t be stupid. And I trust you but, watch out for the girls.” I lectured Luke as I clutched onto the front of his shirt.

He was standing in the airport with the boys, Gina and Norman. They were starting off their tour with the Justice Crew and Reece Mastin.

“Yes, Mum.” He replied, sarcastically.

“I’m sorry; I’m just really going to miss you.” I sighed and kissed him.

“And I’m going to miss you too, like crazy. You can still come.”

“No, it’s pointless for me to come; I have no reason to be there. Just have fun, okay?”

“I will. But I got to go, I’ll see you in a few days. I’ll be thinking of you.” He kissed me long and hard before hugging me and heading off to his exit.

I felt like I was overreacting but I honestly hadn’t spent more than a couple of hours away from Luke, he was my best friend and I feel lost without him. I watched as they headed off and he turned at the last moment to smile and blow me a kiss. I pretended to catch it and hold it to my heart.

“Alright, let’s go.” Emily nudged me.

I looked around at the other girls.

“Am I the only one who misses them already? Or am I just too attached?”

They shook their heads at me.

“No, I miss them too.” Bayley replied.

“Same.” Sydni nodded.

Sydni drove us all home in Beau’s car.

“If I need anything, I’m calling you three!” I announced before slamming the car door and running off to my front door through the rain.

“They make it off, ok?” Mom asked when I stepped inside.

“Yeah.”

I sulked upstairs to my room and flopped down onto my bed. I attempted to plan out a schedule in my head to keep myself busy while Luke was gone. I couldn’t think of anything but clean my room and it was already fairly clean. As I lounged on my bed my phone vibrated and lip up with a text from Melanie  I sighed because she’s been somewhat excluded from the group since her break-up with James. I felt bad and I missed her hanging out with us.

“Sleepover. Mine. Tomorrow @ 8.” Her text to Sydni, Bayley, Emily and I read.

I replied by offering to bring food.

“Open up, it’s raining!” I hollered as I beat on Melanie’s front door.

“Sorry, I was making cookies with Bayley. Didn’t hear you.” She replied, yelling over the loud music.

Shortly after Sydni and Emily arrived too. By 12:30 we were lying around Melanie s living room watching movies. I was drifting off to sleep when all of our phones rang at almost the same time, except for Melanie. We jolted up to answer our phones. It was the boys.

“Hey, babe. We just finished performing, how are you?” Luke sounded out of breath.

“Hey! I’m good. I miss you, how are you?” I asked.

“Good, and I miss you too. I’m really excited to see you soon!”

“Tomorrow!” I cheered. “Aren’t you tired?”

“Yeah, but I wanted to talk to you.”

I smiled idiotically at the ground. Even after all this time, Luke made my heart race the same way it did when I first laid my eyes on him.

‘I know I sound like a super attached, crazy girlfriend but I literally spent all my time with Luke and being away from him for a few days made me realize how grateful I was to have him in my life.’

After about an hour of talking with Luke I hung up and we headed off to bed. We woke up and got to the airport sometime shortly after noon. Emily, Bayley, Sydni and I waited eagerly near their plane exit.

“Where are they? They said #3 at 12:30.” Emily groaned impatiently.

I turned to examine the swarm of people running hectically around the airport. As I was turning back to look for the boys’ airplane landing I spotted them walking towards us.

“You weren’t supposed to see us coming!” Luke cried as I ran towards him.

He picked me up and spun me around, kissing my face.

“I missed you.” He smiled into my neck.

“I missed you too.” I kissed him.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and clung to him tight.

“You’re staying at my house tonight.” I demanded as he waddled out of the airport with me hanging off of him.

At my house we spent the night cuddling on my bed, his arm around my shoulder, my head on his chest, and watched movies together. Luke’s fingers were wrapped in between mine and my legs rested on top of his.

“I missed you.” He whispered as he kissed the top of my head. “I wanted to call you every chance I got but the boys talked me out of it, you were probably busy anyways.”

“I missed you too. And I was so bored, I had nothing to do!” I cried.

“You know, you’ve changed my life so much, Maizy.”

“How?” I asked, looking up at him.

“You just make me so much happier and I wake up in the morning looking forward to the day knowing I’ll be spending my time with such an amazing person. And I’m so blessed, you know. You could have any guy you want but instead you chose me, a hopeless kid with no future.”

“You’re not hopeless and you have a future! You’re talented and you’ve got a lot going for you. I’m proud of you andI’m lucky to have you.”

He leaned over and kissed me firmly.

“As cliché as this sounds, I can actually see myself marrying you.” He blurted out.

“What?” I gawked at him.

“Yeah, in a couple years from now; you and me in a church with all our friends and family, us getting married. Can’t you see it?”

I didn’t say anything.

“Oh god, you don’t see yourself marrying me.”

“I never said that, it’s just, I’ve never thought of it before.”

“Oh, sorry. I’m just weird then.” He seemed so what annoyed and hurt.

“No, Luke, my feelings for you 10 years from now don’t determine my feelings for you now. Can we not put pressure on the future and just live for now.”

His silence was deafening.

“Thank god you’re mine, Luke. I love you so much.”

“Thank god you’re mine, Maizy. I love you more.”
