“What are you doing?” I yelled as Beau grabbed my arm when I tried to push him back out the door.

“You can’t do this. I fought for you, Maizy! I love you. You’re mine!” he screamed.

“You fought for me? You forced yourself on me multiple times and ruined my relationship with Luke because you were jealous. You forced me into choosing someone. That’s nowhere near fighting for me! I’m not even sure your intensions to get with me were because you liked me.”

“Then why’d you choose me?”

“To get over you! And it worked.” I pulled my arm free and opened the door. “Get out.”

“Did you even love me?” he interrogated.

I could tell that I hurt him.

“Yes.” I admitted. “But you acted so vulgar last night. I’m sorry, Beau. I never meant to hurt you.”

He pushed past me and left Emily and I staring at each other. I tried to contain myself but I burst into tears immediately. Emily hugged me tight. She cancelled her plans with Daniel to spend the night with me.

“I should give up on boys. They’re so complicated.” I sighed.

“If this is you telling me you’re lesbian, I have a boyfriend; back off!” she teased.

“Oh, Em. You know what I mean!” I scolded.

“Hey, Emily!” Mom sang when she came home.

“Hey, Mom.” She replied.

“How was work?” I asked.

“Long, boring, exhausting. What are you two watching?”

“The Walking Dead. Want to watch?”

She plopped down on the recliner beside Emily and I and put her feet up.

“I have this weekend off. I made a spa appointment for you and I on Saturday.” She announced.

“Oh, yay!” I cheered, clapping like a seal.

Mom was always working and I’d happily take a day to spend with her.

The next morning I woke up to Emily quietly snoring beside me.

“Cute.” I whispered.

“Wake up, cunt!” I hollered, shaking her. “And you were snoring.”

“Fuck you, slut. You snore too.” She groaned and buried her face under the pillow.

“I do not!” I cried, hitting her with my pillow.

We walked to school and when we got there we noticed the twins were walking too.

“Where’s your chauffeur?” I asked.

“The cunt refuses to drive us.” Jai growled.

“Sorry. That could be my fault.” I replied.

“Why? What happened?” Luke interrogated.

“We had a fall out.” I sighed.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Luke replied sympathetically with a hint of enthusiasm. “Who’s next?”

“I’ll probably try with James next.” My reply caught him off guard. “I’m joking!” I cried, punching him lightly.

He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind me and lifted me up. I screamed and laughed at the same time. He carried me down the hallway to my locker, placing me gently on my feet.
