Since the Beginning

Chapter 17

Beau drove Jai and Sydni to Sydni’s, Bayley got picked up, Emily and Daniel went to Daniel’s and Luke walked me home.

“I had fun tonight.” I announced.

We were now standing on my sidewalk out front of my house. Luke had lent me his varsity jacket because it had gotten cooler out.

“Me too.” He replied.

“Goodnight, Luke.” I added after a long pause.

“Goodnight, Maizy.”

He took a step towards me but hesitated to do something, and quickly left. I didn’t bother to give him his jacket because I knew if he wanted it, he would have asked for it.

The next morning my mom drove her and I to the spa. Halfway through getting our nails done, she brought up my brother.

“Your brother called again.”

“Oh, yeah?” I replied.

“Yeah, you should call him back.”

“Sure.” I replied sarcastically.

“Why not?” she snapped.

“Why would I? I have nothing to say.”

“Because he’s your brother.”

“He never acted like it.” I growled back.

“Stop being over dramatic!”

“Over dramatic?” I cried raising my voice.

She shook her head and dropped the subject.

My mom nagging at me like that usually ticked me off for multiple hours. My mom was part of the problem back in Canada but I’d live with her over my dad, any day.

The morning was considerably cooler than it was now, in the afternoon, so I changed into cooler clothes; short shorts, a tank top and flip flops. I was still ticked at my mom so I headed over to the Brooks’. The boys just got their air conditioning hooked up so they were all lounging around in their boxers, cooling off, and as usual Sydni was there.

“I’m glad you’re classy enough to keep your clothes on!” I teased Sydni.

She laughed.

“I’m guessing you won’t want to go to the beach?” I asked, sulking down onto the floor, crossing my legs.

“That sounds good.” One limp body on the floor replied. It was Luke.

The three of them slowly pulled themselves up to get ready.

“Pick me up when you’re done.” I hollered as I closed their front door behind me.

I ran up my stairs and slipped into my new bikini and pulled my clothes on over it. I skipped down the stairs and ran outside, climbing in beside Sydni when Beau pulled up. As soon as the car stopped, I hopped out before anyone else could move. I was admiring everything when I saw Luke out of the corner of my eye, pointing his camera at me. I waited to hear the click of the shutter before turning to face him.

“Sorry, you’re a good model.” He started to put his camera away.

“No, it’s ok. Take all the pictures you want.”

“Let’s go, babe.” Beau hollered, wrapping his arms around my waist and carrying me off.

I lay my towel on the sand and dropped my bag beside it. I pulled off my clothes and ran off, stopping knee deep in the water. I heard someone behind me, sloshing through the water.

“Don’t move.” Luke ordered.

I froze and heard his camera click a few times.

“Thank you.”

“Wow, you’re pictures are amazing, Luke!” I cried, looking at the picture on his small camera screen.

“Because of my model.” He smirked, biting his lip and looking down, inspecting my body.

I gave him a light shove and walked out a bit farther in the water. He took a few more pictures before putting his camera away. When he came back into the water, he threw me over his shoulder and carried me out deeper.

“Again?” I groaned sarcastically right before he dropped both of us into the water.

He playfully chased me out of the water and to join the rest of the group. I missed spending time with Luke. I watched him carefully as he sat back on his towel.

-Luke’s POV-

I watched Maizy as she wrung out her hair and lay back on her towel. Water droplets covered her beautiful, silk skin. Her hip bones poked out which caused her stomach to sink in slightly. Looking at her body, and the location we were currently at, reminded me of our first date and how it ended. Images of us making love that night flashed through my head. I could hear her moaning my name.

“Calm down.” Beau yelped.

That’s when I felt my swim shorts tighten at the crotch. Maizy giggled as I awkwardly rolled over onto my stomach.

“Hey, Luke. Can you put some sunscreen on my back?” Maizy teased, rolling over and untying her bathing suit, causing Jai, Sydni and Beau to laugh.

She was being serious so Beau happily sat on her legs to apply the sunscreen.

“Are you decent enough to come get ice cream with me?” Maizy meant me.

“I think so.” I slowly lifted myself up and onto my feet.

“Mm, thank you.” She cheered giddily after licking her ice cream cone.

“Sorry about the awkward boner thing.” I apologized. “I’ve been sexually frustrated lately.”

-Maizy’s POV-

He laughed nervously.

“You know, I’m always free.” I winked, skipping off to the others.

I plopped onto my towel and crossed my legs. My phone vibrated and lit up and I looked to see a text from Luke.

“You free now? ;)” it read.

“Piss off, weirdo ;)” I texted back.

I looked back to see him slowly walking, texting with one hand and holding his ice cream in the other. He smiled when he read my text.
