“Hey, let’s go!” Luke yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
“Hold on!” I yelled back, shoving a handful of clothes into my suitcase.
“We’re going to miss our flight!” he continued.
“I know, hold on!” I screamed.
As I ran out of my room I threw my backpack over my shoulder and attempted to carry my suitcase down the stairs.
“You could help?” I snapped, pushing a strand of loose hair behind my ear and kicking at the suitcase.
He raised an eyebrow and folded his arms.
“Sorry, you’re rushing me but you won’t help.” I sighed.
He skipped up the stairs and grabbed my suitcase. I gave him a quick peck and thanked him. He lead me outside to Beau’s car and we both piled in. While we were at the cottage Luke invited me to go a meet and greet with them. It was one of the first of many they had planned. I had gladly accepted the offer because earlier in the month I had asked Gina if I could take photos for the boys’ website and I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity. Our plane landed and we piled off. In the airport a couple of girls followed us out to the van that was waiting for us. As we climbed in as fast as we could to avoid the shrieking girls, someone pulled on my leg. I pulled back and flew forward, smashing my face on the seat when they let go. I didn’t get to see who it was because we were driving before I got turned around. Luke gave me a worried look but I shook my head and mouthed:
“I’m ok.”
“Everyone here?” Gina turned to us and asked.
I did a mental checklist: Beau, Daniel, Jai, James, Luke, Myself.
“Yup!” we all cried.
After dropping our stuff off at our hotel we headed to the meeting spot. A huge group of girls surrounded the boys as soon as they saw them. I stood off to the side and took pictures. I helped Gina with some merchandise and helped Norman keep track of the boys. Every once in a while I’d notice someone out of the corner of my eye staring at me.
“Hey, Maizy, could you go get that pack of water from the van?” Gina asked, handing me the keys.
“Sure thing!” I skipped off to the vehicle and unlocked it.
“Maizy?” I heard someone ask.
I turned to see a short, dark haired girl and a slightly taller, blonde girl.
“That’s me!” I smiled at her. “What can I do for you?”
“Stay awake from Luke.” She snarled.
“Excuse me?” I squinted at her.
“You heard me. You’re just a slut and you’re only going to hurt him. He can do so much better than you!” she replied.
“Like who, you?” I shot back.
“Glad we see eye to eye.” She grinned before pushing me to the ground.
“What the..” I cried.
“Shut up!” she growled and punched me in the face.
“What are you doing?” I cried out.
The blonde one pulled at my hair and kicked my side when the dark haired girl punched me in the face some more.
“Fuck off!” I screamed.
I yelled for Luke at the top of my lungs and the dark haired girl scolded me for yelling.
“Fuck, they’re coming.” The blonde one stated.
“Look what you did, stupid cunt!” the dark haired girl yelled before the two ran off.
I slowly sat up and held my side as Luke, Daniel and a group of fans ran over.
“You ok, what happened?” Luke asked, kneeling beside me.
“Some crazed-fan attacked me.” I cried.
“Why?”
“I don’t know, she was probably jealous because she said ‘Luke is mine’ and then her and her friend attacked me.”
Luke picked me up and carried me over to the rest of the people.
“Luke, I’m fine.” I lied.
I could feel my face beginning to swell and my ribs hurt every time I moved. The two girls knew what they were doing. Luke bombarded me with questions while he and Gina poked at me as I sat on the ledge of a fountain.
“I’m fine, stop.” I snapped swatting their hands away.
I hated when people made a big deal over me and overreacted so much. Luke wiped at my nose and showed me his blood covered finger. I sighed and looked around at everyone staring at me. A few girls stared at me with worried looks on their faces.
“I’m fine, honestly.” I reassured them as Luke wiped at my nose.
The next thing I knew my phone was blowing up with notifications from Twitter. I looked at it to see multiple tweets from people about the situation with the girls attacking me. I handed Luke my phone and walked to the other side of the fountain to clean off my nose.
“I’m glad that she got what she had coming.” I heard someone whisper behind me as they walked by.
I groaned and walked back to join the group.
“Are you okay?” one of the fans asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine, don’t worry about it.” I replied as she hugged me.
She must have been not much older than 10. She seemed genuinely concerned and not just asking to say she had a conversation with one of the Janoskians’ girlfriends. She was a cute little girl and she clung to me.
“Hey, who’s your favourite?” I asked her, stroking her head.
She looked up at me with big, sparkling, blue-green eyes. She grinned as she told me it was Jai.
“I’ve been here forever and I still haven’t met him.” She told me.
I picked her up and carried her through the swarm of shrieking girls towards Jai. It’s like he read my mind because as soon as he saw us he took the little girl from me and began to talk to her. As I walked off she tugged at my shirt.
“Can I have a picture with you?” she asked.
I grinned and knelt beside her, my very first fan.
