𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓'𝐒 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄, his hands running through his air. He shouldn't have left her there. He knew how cruel, judgemental and self-centred some of those nobles could be and he still left because he couldn't handle the thought of her leaving. He would be losing two of his favourite kids in a matter of fewer than forty-eight hours. If he had just stayed, he could have helped her, defended her, even. From what the king had told him—which was a bunch of lies—Y/N attacked Chad out of nowhere. He knew the king's opinion was biased; he needed to keep the people happy so that Ben could become king and rule over the kingdom.

He was doing this all to keep his family safe, at least, that's what the king managed to convince himself. Genie knew, that deep down, it was to keep the power on his side of the court. However, the older man couldn't blame him because ever since Beast was elected there have been nobles all over the world trying to dethrone him. In reality, Beast was just scared, but he would never admit it. After all, he was a monster, once... it was just a piece of his past that he'd prefer to forget about.

Genie groaned as he watched Fairy Godmother, Belle and Beast crowd around a blackboard that was brought in by one of the servants. Fairy Godmother was standing in front of the board, white chalk in her hand as she wrote down things in an organized manner. Shang was leaning against Beast's desk, watching Genie pace around the room like a maniac. He knew how close Genie was to Y/N and his son, so he knew how much this could be affecting the Guardian. He just lost one of his pupils and was about to have to watch Y/N go through some form of hardship because of unbiased opinions.

"I thought that I told you both that I wanted you to make bracelets that'll prevent this kind of thing from happening?" Beast asked, his arms crossed as he glared at Genie and then at Fairy Godmother.

Fairy Godmother nodded her head. "We did. I enchanted them to prevent any kind of usage regarding evil magic."

"Well, clearly it didn't work because—"

"Because she's not evil. She's not Chernabog," Genie spoke, cutting the king off. He groaned. "She's only half demon and you know that."

Beast scoffed, but before he had the chance to speak, Belle placed her hand on his forearm, stopping him. Belle knew that her husband understood the situation that the young girl was going through. Over a few decades ago, Beast was in the same situation as Y/N: Everyone saw him as a monster, so, eventually, he became one. She was terrified of Chernabog, but she couldn't let that cloud her judgment of the young girl; they weren't the same people. She had something running through her veins that Chernabog could never have.

She didn't want the young girl to have to suffer the same way her husband did. Isolation was a cruel thing and could turn the whitest of hearts black.

"I don't care what she is nor who she is." Beast sighed, pushing his glasses up as he rubbed his temples. "Just get her under control. Make a new pair of bracelets."

Belle looked at Beast. "Adam—"

"No. No, we aren't doing that." Genie held out his hands as he shook his head.

Beast took a step towards Genie, leaving his wife. "And why not? This is what's best for the people."

"No—"

"Both of you, enough!" Fairy Godmother shouted, gaining the men's attention. "She's just a child!"

Shang pushed himself off of the desk and walked towards the group, a stoic expression on his face. "She was only defending herself and her friends." Beast looked at Shang in disbelief. "Chad started the fight. He didn't throw the first punch, but sometimes, words hurt more than cuts and bruises."
