I mean what is a relationship if there isn't any struggle. These little "rough patches" is the ride along a bumpy road. If a relation survives it, it is deemed strong enough, while if it breaks it is simply not strong enough is what is widely known even though it is also widely known that a true relationship doesn't break because of one factor but because of several factors.
But a relationship's first rough patch is what lays basis of all the upcoming ups and downs and the whole relationship itself. Why else would we give 'the first fight' as much importance as the first everything else?
Now since this is supposedly a love story especially of a brown girl and boy I think we can all guess what the first rough patch would be about...our parents finding out.
How my parents found out? Simple, me and my mom were arguing about me going to meet him all the time and that's when my mom sarcastically asked me, "What is he? Your boyfriend?" and I screamed back, "YES!" what happened afterwards was a heck lot of beating, shaming and after things cooled down a little the good old explanation. What we concluded was I was to end things with him and continue things as friendship. At least I convinced my parents for friendship. My mother is not like all Indian mothers. She does understand the basic fundamentals of an adolescent brain to get attracted to the opposite sex (not the same sex, she doesn't understand the logic behind it) and therefore is totally chill with having crushes and stuff like that, but a relationship is a big deal and only after a certain age would she allow that. She is actually a good, chill mother but would never bend her morals.
As for how his parents found out, ohhh that was a really messy situation.
