Chapter 14: The hunt

Vanessa POV:

It's been exactly a week since the night at Alex's house, and I couldn't stop thinking about what the Venom did. They were after me, I have to do something before anyone gets hurt.

I had to do something

It's Sunday morning and I couldn't stop thinking of what happened. I have a plan but it's very risky, but I have to try. I got up and put on some black leggings and a black hoodie.

"Aunt Lucy, I'm going out with the boys, I'll be back late" I said

Partially lying

I grabbed my keys and left the house, I made my way to Daniel's house

When I got there, I knocked at the door and wait for someone to open. Then, finally Daniel opened the door.

"Daniel, I need your help, it's very risky and if you don't want to-" I was saying when Daniel interrupted me

"I'm in" he said

"Okay, first can we use your car. They know how my motorcycle looks like"

Without saying another word, he got his keys and off to the car we went

"So, what's the plan?" he asked

"It's risky, but basically we are going to break into my old house and try to get to my fathers office and I hope everything is still there. We will be looking for anything associated with The Venom or look for anything to do with Vladimir or even Russia" I said worrying about Daniel.

Why did I bring him into this? He might get hurt and it will all be my fault

"Okay, how do we know your fathers things are still there and how do we know The Venom weren't already there?" he reminded me

Good point

"We don't know that, but I know where my father hides his things. Well hope they didn't anything they can use against him. Plus, we didn't sell the house so there should still be things in there, unless they broke in." I finally pointed out

"Okay, sounds good" he agreed

"I hope it works; I need this to work"

"Just one more question V, what if we get caught?" he asked

"We run Danny, as fast as we can! If anything else happens I'll try to hold them back, lets just say I the Scorpions taught me some moves." I replied

"Can't we just get the boys to join? I mean they can help, and Tyler and Alex can fight as well." He suggested

"No Danny, it's already risky asking you to go with, I dont want anyone else involved" I replied

Dammit why did I get my best friend involved?

"Wait Tyler and Alex fight?" I asked

"Yeah, they do boxing, besides of football, boxing is also one of their other passion. Why do you think they always have swollen eyes and bruises?" he asked laughing at my facial expression

"Wow, I mean Tyler and Alex are like the bad boys of our school, who knows what they are up to? Maybe they are part of a Mafia too" I playfully suggested

"No, not a Mafia, they are bad boys, but I dont see them been part of a Mafia." he answered

"Who knows, you also didnt think I was involved with one did you?" I asked

"You're not involved with one. Your dad was or is, you're just helping" He answered

He was right, I guess. I'm not part of anything I'm just trying to help my dad

The drive there was faster than I expected, Daniel and I are now sitting in his car parked outside my old house. I was nervous

I took a deep breath and got out of the car. We walked toward the front door

"Daniel, I have the keys, but I thinks it's too risky to enter through the front door" I whispered honestly

"Window?" he suggested

We made our way to the back of the house, trying to be as quite as we can. I found the window which led us to my fathers office. I take out a my hair clip and opened the window within seconds

"How the fuck did you open that? And with a damn hair thing?" He asked looking shook

"I used to sneak out a lot so I learned how to open windows so I could sneak back in" I mentioned

I put my leg over the window and climbed in, Daniel followed. I looked for the light switch and turned on the lights. Everything looked normal and in place.

"Daniel, look through his desk. Anything under Vladimir or Venom okay?" I told him

I was looking through all the boxes of work he had, boxes with weird names on them, I had to look for Vladimir or any suspicious names. After looking for an eternity I finally found an odd box. It looked just like all the other ones but this one had something about it. On all the other boxes the names were all written out, no matter how long the names were, but on this one it only said V.S

"Давайте посмотрим в его офисе!" I heard someone say. And I know that it wasnt Daniel because he doesn't speak Russian.

Vipers

"Daniel lets go now! They are coming here!" I whispered loud enough that he could hear me, but making sure that I was quiet enough so that whoever is In the house did not hear me.

Hopefully

I picked up the box that said V.S and went out of the window where I saw Daniel was waiting.

"V hurry up!" he whispered loud enough for me to hear

We ran toward the car which was parked a few blocks away. We got to the car safely. I put the box at the back and put my safety belt on.

"Daniel do not drive past my house, lets go the long way" I said to him

My heart was racing, Who the hell were those people and why were they in my house.

"Let's go home Daniel" I said

He started the car and off we went

Vanessa is up to something! and someone sure I after her. first they break into her Aunts house and now her father house? what could they possibly want?
