Chapter 38: Who's he?

Daniels POV:

It's been a few weeks since Alex's funeral and although I hated him for what he did to Vanessa I still miss him. For the past few weeks nothing really changed, people still walk past Alex's locker and leave flowers or cards, Vanessa and Tyler are still together, the rest of the boys and I are still single, school sucks, Tessa is back and strong, and don't tell Tyler but I ship her and Cole... Vanessa started running again after taking a few weeks off and thats how life has been going. Slowly but surely.

"Good morning class, today we will be reading Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet." I heard the English teacher say while walking in.

"So, who can give me a brief description of Romeo and Juliet?" she asked "Daniel?"

"An age-old vendetta erupts into bloodshed between two influential families. A group of masked Montagues threaten more conflict by crushing the Capulet Party. A young lovesick, Romeo Montague, is immediately in love with Juliet Capulet, who is due to marry her father's option, County Paris" I explained

"Very well Mr Cooper" she congratulated me

Knock knock

We heard someone knock at the door

"Come in!" she spoke

"Is this Mrs Williams class? a young handsome" guy asked

"Yes, it is. You must be the new student. Liam Gray" Mrs Williams asked "Please take a sit, there is an empty sit between Vanessa and Daniel" she added pointing towards the empty sit. The handsome guy sat next to me. He is tall, taller than me for sure. He has light brown wavy hair and hazel eyes. he is muscular and well-tanned.

"I'm Liam" he said

"Daniel" I said smiling back

Throughout the English lesson we talked about Romeo and Juliet, Liam answered most of the questions meaning he is a reader. Interesting

Ring

"Class dismissed" Mrs Williams announced

The day went by faster than I expected. Its now the end of the day and the boys and I are warming up as coach told us to.

"Daniel!" Tyler said sounding suspicious

"Tyler?" I asked

"Does my Daniel maybe have a crush on Liam?" he asked with a smirk on his face

"I just met him, and barely even spoke to him. I don't have a crush on him" I replied

"Then why were you staring at him as if he is a damn walking pizza, huh?" he mentioned

"I wasn't staring" I confirmed

"Oh, come on Daniel we all know you were, plus it's not a bad thing liking someone. You deserve to be happy." He pointed out and jogged away leaving me to my own thoughts.

I mean Liam is really handsome but I need to get to know him better before I call him a crush

"Boys, gather up!" I heard coach yell. The boys and I jogged back to where our coach was standing.

"So, today we are getting a new player, he should be here at any moment" my coach announced looking around for the new player. From far we could see someone jog toward us but he was too far so I couldnt tell who it was. Once he got closer I finally realised who he was

"Liam Gray" coach introduced.

"This is the team Captain, Daniel Walker." Coach announced pointing toward me "whenever I'm not here he takes over practice, if you have any questions you are more than welcome to ask me or Daniel. either than that welcome to the team Liam" Coach explained

"Enough talking, we need to see how good you really are, so we are going to be divided into too teams and plan against each other. Liam do your best and try to keep up with the boys" Coach explained once again

Coach divided us into two teams. Tyler, Mason and I were on the same team with a few other guys and Liam, Michael and Cole were on the other team

"Let the game begin!" Coach yelled followed by a sharp whistle

The game started and lets just say Liam was actually good, he ran fast and had fast reflexes. Tyler and I were barely able to keep up with him. Cole throw the ball at Liam and Tyler and I tried to stop him but he was too fast for us

"Daniel, tackle his ass down, I'm tired of chasing after him" Said Tyler out of breath. I nodded and focused on Liam running with the ball. Alright, I payed enough attention to him to notice that he always runs to the right and barely to the left. I can pretend I'm going to the left but tackle him down

What the hell Daniel that doesn't even make sense to myself but I know what I meant

here goes nothing

Liam ran towards me, I tried to go left and he went right, than I quickly turned around and tackled him down

"Good job Captain" Tyler yelled

"That was good" Liam said getting up and helping me up

"Thank you, you are too fast so I just had to be faster and play smarter" I said

"You sure did Captain" he said jogging away

Practice was over shortly and we made our way to the locker room, we took a quick and short shower and made our way back outside where we met up with Nessa and Tessa

"So how was practise?" Tessa asked us

"Exhausting as always!" Cole, the twins, Tyler and I all said at the same time

the girls laughed and so did we

"Great job out the Liam" Cole said looking behind me

I turned around and saw Liam walking toward us

"Thanks Cole, you guys are amazing out there" he said

"Thank you" we all said at once

"that's Vanessa and Tessa" Mason said pointing at the girls

"Nice to meet you both" he said with a smile

"Nice to meet you too" Vanessa said

"You're the girl who was running today right?" he asked curiously

"Yeah that would be me" Nessa replied

"I saw you ran and you're amazing" he congratulated her

"Thanks" Vanessa said leaning on Tyler

"Well, I'll see you all tomorrow" Liam said

"You should sit with us tomorrow during lunch" Tyler said

"That would be great. see you" Liam said walking away
