Kai's POV.

I was patrolling the east part of the castle when I got a mind link from Damon telling me that someone was in his room with Jade and she doesn't know who they are.

As the future royal gamma I knew I had to get to her and fast.

As much as I wanted to hate her

I knew she was my queen and it's not her fault she was a rogue

Or that she is Damon's mate.

I've been in love with Damon for years but couldn't let anyone know.

If it got out that I had loved him then it could not only jeopardize our friendship but also my position as the gamma

When Jade first appeared in town I had only thought

"great another rogue"

But when Damon got a whiff of the air and started following her I knew everything was gonna change.

As much as most lycans don't like weak mates

Damon had always said he wouldn't even care if his mate turned out human or even a fish

he would love her even in death he would never reject his future Queen even if it cost him his chance for the throne he would never condone rejection

With so many wolves and humans dying from rejection

he had felt that anyone who rejected their mates was stupid for rejecting the one person meant for them

And I've always agreed with him until he found his mate.

I was heartbroken and a small part of me wished he would reject her.

I know it was selfish of me especially since he's not gay or anything.

I've never been open with the fact that I liked men,

Well not men really just one man and that's Damon

I think Damon might of known,

He has always had an open mind and he's never asked me about any ladies I might be dating.

He has asked if I've been seeing anyone but he never put a gender to the question it's always been them or they

He's always been kind and a good friend.

I love him with everything I have but it's not meant to be.

I will get over this love I have for him some how.

I was on my way to Queen Jade when I smelled an amazing smell.

It was like peaches and lavender it was a weird combination of a smell but it still smelled amazing to me

as I started to pick up the pace walking faster and faster until I was flat out running with my nose in the air.
