We made our way to the medical center to check on Lilly

I noticed that Kai was only wearing a pair of shorts and had a long gash across his torso.

He kept his head down as he walked 5 feet behind us.

From the look of it he might of been the Lycan that had attacked me. The King finally asked what I had been dreading him to ask.

So. Have you always been able to shift or was it in the moment kind of thing?

I could feel a few eyes on me as everyone waited for my answer.

I cleared my throat and said.

I've been able to shift for a long time now this is the first time I've ever fought a lycan though.

I heard the King chuckle and said.

Well you did one hell of a job you have good instincts and you tried not to do too much damage at first.

I thank you for that.

I would've jumped in if you had gone for the kill though.

I knew he meant every word of what he said. So I just nodded my head.

So how long has it been since your first shift?

I heard an unlikely person ask. It was the Queen of all people.

She kept glancing up then back to the ground before her pride had apparently won out against her guilt and she looked me dead in the eyes with her head held high waiting for my answer.

I looked over to see Damon leaning closer like he doesn't want to miss what I have to say. I could see out the corner of my eye Kai was slightly looking up towards me.

I didn't want to tell but I knew I shouldn't lie to the King and Queen and to my own mate so I began to tell them.

I first shifted when I was 8.

I heard a gasp. How is that possible? asked the Queen

I shrugged my shoulders.

I don't know I remember the feeling of being overwhelmingly angry. My emotions was overflowing and seeing what happened to my mother had pushed me over the edge. The King then asked what had happened to my mother and I explained everything to them.

From when My mother and I was playing in the woods near the pack house.

To when I heard her scream and how

My mother did everything she could to keep me safe and she hung onto that wolf not letting go to keep him away from me

I went on as a tear rolled down my cheek thinking about my mother.

my mate pulled me closer and kissed the top of my head.
