This chapter will be kind of long LOL because of many reasons haha.
Also, another heads up. This is not a fanfic about Katniss and Gale. Idk what their ship name is LOL but yeah. So whatever interaction they have is just random stuff to add the drama haha.
Katniss POV

I bury my face in my hands, mortified. I didn't even get a score yet! Even Caesar is baffled when he announces my 'score'. These are Casaer's exact words. "And the Girl on Fire scores a... Uh..." He pauses to turn around frantically then look at his note card. "Katniss Everdeen from District 12 did not receive a score. Katniss Everdeen is not eligible for scoring. The details will not be available. Gamemakers say Katniss got a score so high it exceeds the 12 point score. Congratulations Girl on Fire! You will burn bright forevermore!" Everyone in the room leaps up to congratulate me. Wait, what? I exceeded the limit? I thought I wasn't eligible because my score was so low! I must have caught their attention by climbing the trellis.

"Katniss!" Effie screeches in joy. "Hurray, hurray, hurray!" Gale and Dane smile at me, Cinna embraces me, Haymitch grins, and tells me the usual, "Good job, girl on fire."

Effie tells Gale and I that we are allowed to have one free hour. I hurry to the elevator, dragging Gale along.

"We're seeing Cato right?" Gale asks annoyedly.

"And Clove!" I say.

"Katniss!" A voice yells when we step off the elevator. "Congrats!" Cato and Clove whoop.

"Same to you!" I holler back. Gale stands to the side with a stony expression while Clove and Cato chatter excitedly. Who would have thought: Clove and I have grown a lot closer these past few days. She confided in me her problems back home. I now feel so sorry for the siblings; their parents abused them, and they had a little, little sister who was killed by their parents. Even though abusive parents are common in the districts, I couldn't imagine them actually killing their own child! They had an older sister who was a victor in the 69th Games, and Cato volunteered as tribute so he could protect Clove in the arena.

I hug Clove and punch Cato playfully. All four of us ride the elevator to the roof of the Training Center, where there is a beautiful garden. I inspect the plants with Clove and Cato attempts at conversation with Gale. Thankfully, he understands Gale's personality and tolerates Gale's indifference.

"Katniss, how much do you love your sister?" Clove asks me shyly. Her bright blue eyes remind me so much of Prim's.

"Very much. It's like how much you love Cato and your other sisters." I tell her. Clove nods.

"There can only be one winner, right?"

"Right. Sadly."

"Are you trying to win for your sister? I know Cato wants me to win for him."

"Yes.... But I want everyone to win. I wish everyone could win. It's stupid." Clove squints at me.

"I think you should win." This is a young girl, who deserves a long, wonderful life, telling me that I should win.

"Why?"

"Because you deserve it. You volunteered. You should go back to Primrose. You are so brave. I just want to be like you." Clove whispers in my ear, her feet on tiptoe.

"Oh, Clove," I shake my head dismally. Gratefully, Cato comes to the rescue.

"Katniss! Clove! Let's go do something fun!" He shouts. Cato decides that we are going on an adventure. Bicycling, or whatever that is. An Avox brings us four contraptions with wheels. I look at the thing suspiciously.
