Prims POV

When I wake, my head lightly throbs. I place my hand on my forehead to discover a lump, and I remember what had happened last night. Katniss is sound asleep next to me, her hair in a crazy halo and drool seeping out of her mouth. I quietly chuckle and slip out of bed.

My mother is making breakfast, and now since we can actually afford to buy fresh bakery bread, I take some money from my mom and head to the Mellark's.

The morning air is pleasantly warm and sweet, and all along the pathways are small green shoots, sprouting up towards the clear sky. People mill around, still in their early 'sleep mode' and shoot me looks. Yes, because of the wonderful blue bruise on my forehead. I ignore them and instead, think about what Katniss had said last night. Did she mean she likes Peeta as a friend or something more? I mean, she doesn't even know him, really. Maybe she means he's nice? Whatever the case may be, I'm glad she likes him. It will make everything so much easier.
--------

My mother, being the hospitable woman she is, insists on inviting Effie, Cinna, and Haymitch for dinner, again. Katniss and I spent the whole day in the meadow, talking and eating and enjoying the beautiful summer day. I used our telephone to call the guests and soon enough, the doorbell rings. We actually have a doorbell! That rings! Technology these days is unbelievable, although I'm sure doorbells in the Capitol are no big deal. I unlock the tall wooden door (yes there are locks too!) and welcome Cinna in. I have a feeling we won't be expecting Haymitch tonight. He's so wrapped up in his alcohol addiction to eat anything.

"Hello, Prim," Cinna smiles. Like my sister, I really like Cinna. He's kind and clever and creative, and isn't freakishly obsessed with his appearance unlike the other Capitol citizens. Effie on the other hand... Katniss flies down the stairs (we have stairs too!) and runs into Cinna's arms. She looks scared and anxious, and she furiously whispers something into Cinna's ear. Katniss was just fine an hour ago, but she disappeared into her room and didn't come out for a while. Katniss and Cinna hurry upstairs with unreadable expressions on their faces, leaving me to wait for Effie in silence.
