Jack opened her eyes and quickly closed them. The sunlight shone bright through the curtains on the windows. She blinked her eyes a few times, adjusting to the light. The bed she was in was very soft and comfortable. She stretched her arms and yawned. She sat up and put on her slippers.
Jack walked to the kitchen and saw her lover standing in front of the stove cooking something in a skillet. She sat down on one of the stools in front of the breakfast bar. She gazed at the food in front of her. Pancakes, bacon, sausage and buttered toast all on plates sitting on the marbled surface. She looked up at Jethro, who was now adding milk to the food in the skillet.
Jethro was mixing the milk in and grabbed a plate from his side. He scooped up the contents of the skillet and placed it on the plate. He then turned around and jumped when he saw Jack sitting there. Jack could see now that the contents of the plate he had was eggs. Jethro quickly put the plate next to the others before the eggs dropped.
"I didn't mean to scare ya, Cowboy," Jack said. "You didn't scare me. I'm not scared of anything except something happening to the people I care about. No. You, you just startled me," Jethro said, confidently. "Oh, okay. Cowboy," Jack laughed. They ate breakfast together; laughing and talking. They loved each other.
When they were driving to NCIS, Jack and Jethro were both talking to each other. Time flew by quickly and what was a 20-minute drive, felt like a 5-minute drive. Jethro stepped out of his pick-up truck feeling very happy; even though it was a Monday. He ran over to the front passenger door and opened it for Jack. "Well, thank you, Cowboy," Jack said, stepping out of the truck. She was very happy and so was he.
They stepped out of the elevator, kissing. The team had caught them before. They already knew. Finally, Jack pulled out of the kiss. They exchanged 'I love you's and Jack went to her office and Jethro went to his desk. They both said their 'hello's to the team.
