Chapter 3

Jack and Jethro went to NCIS together. They were both happy after last night even though it started out badly. Jack was with the team in the bullpen with Jethro. They were all talking about a time when Gibbs was on a case and was very worried about Jack and if he'd be able to see her again. "Really, Cowboy?," Jack asked him.
Jethro blushed and looked away. "I think it's kind of cute. You worried about me," Jack put an arm on his shoulder. Jethro looked back at her. "I love you," Jethro said.
"I love you, too, Cowboy," Jack said. Everyone smiled. Then Jack swooshed in and kissed Jethro. She kissed him hard. "I don't want anything ever to happen to you," Jethro confessed.
"I promise you that I will always keep running back to you," Jack said, smiling. "Promise?," Jethro asked her. "Promise," Jack said. They kissed again. Both were happy and so was the team.
"Gibbs! Sloane! My office now!," Vance called down. They both hopped up and walked up the stairs to his office. Jack walked in first and Jethro closed the door behind them. "Your team has been investigating a drug operation, as you know, and since there's no other way to take them down, I need you to both of you to go undercover as husband and wife. I know that you, Jack, aren't trained in the field but there is no other way. We have been working on this case for 3 months now and we need to take these bastards down once and for all," Vance says after Jack and Jethro take a seat in the chairs before his desk.
"She's not trained so she can't go," Jethro said with a bit of panic in his voice. "Jethro, you of all people should know that I can take care of myse-," Jack said but was cut off by Jethro. "Jack, I don't care if you're able to take care of yourself. The problem is that you aren't trained for this," Jethro said in a soft but firm voice. "For God's sake, Jethro! I was in the damn army?! I am TRAINED to protect myself and other people. I may not be trained for this job, but I am certainly qualified for it! I don't understand why you aren't believing in me! And to think, I actually thought I loved you?!," Jack yelled at Jethro and stormed out of the room.
