----------------------------------------

"Fuck, fuck, FUCK! The dance is tomorrow?" I was mortified, no wait scratch that, dumb-founded when Chaz said that. How could I forget about the dance? It was supposed to a big night for me and I forgot all about it? How the hell is that possible? It was lunch time and me, Chaz, Nolan, and of course, Christofer, were all sitting at our lunch tables. Just because me and Chris are sitting together doesn't mean anything. We're still not talking. Like really, the last thing I said to him was what time it was. And that was only because I was dying to hear his voice. I longed for a voice other than Vinny's. He's been on my back like a cop ever since that encounter that morning when he drove me to school. He's been calling, texting, inboxing on Facebook, mentioning me on Twitter, and reblogging all my pictures on Tumblr. Yes, I never thought it could get that creepy to the point where you take all my sad love quotes and post them on your blog. It's just so much on my plate. Maria's still here, my Mom has seemed a bit distant from me lately, and my Dad, well, he's still the bitter protective loving father. Chaz rolled her eyes at me and took a sip of her Pepsi.

"Yes! Tomorrow night! How the hell could you have forgotten? You couldn't miss those posters that are every fucking everywhere. I went to use the bathroom and there was a picture of last year's theme in the freaking stall. You're still my date right?"

"Of course." Don't judge us. We're both forever alone and there's nothing wrong with taking your bestie to the dance. Okay, that is wrong. I feel like a geek.

I looked from across the table to see Chris and Nolan whispering to each other. Chris moved over next to Chaz and I went to the end to sit with Nolan. I went into my bag and handed Nolan a bag of mini plastic ping pong balls and handed it to him under the table. Me, Chris, and him wrote, 'Prom?' with a Sharpie. I fucking made 100 and let me tell you, it was so much work. Next time, Nolan better do it the classic way and just ask the bitch if she wants to go to the formal with her. I could only imagine what he's gonna do for our last prom. Me and Nolan left the lunchroom, leaving Chris and Chaz chatting up a storm.

"Hurry up. I don't have all day." Nolan gave me the finger and we ran down the hallways and to her locker.

"Okay. What's her combination?" I put in her combination and slipped the lock in my pocket. Nolan grabbed the balls and put them on the top shelf of her locker. I closed it shut, careful not to let the balls fall out.

"Look Nick, I know you've been all sad and depressed and lately but thanks. I don't know what I'd do without you. It really means a lot."

"You're welcome. I don't think I'm going to the formal though."

"Why?"

"Hmm... I don't know. Probably because I don't have anyone to go with! I don't wanna be the third wheel."

"Why don't you just go with Vin-"

"Shut up! I am sick and tired of hearing his name. I don't wanna go with him at all. No offense, but he's been bugging me for days now. He lost his player personality. I figured it out when he came over to my house to drop off some flowers for me, and Maria was flirting with him. He made no emotion whatsoever. I just don't want to lead him on like that, and then drop him the next day."
