When we went into the lunchroom, all eyes were formed on us. I'm guessing that a "popular" person isn't supposed to hang out with a loner or a new kid. But to be honest, this was all kind of new to me. I mean normally when there's is a new kid in the school, I just wave and keep walking. But there was just something about this Christofer kid that I had a really good feeling about, I just can't put my finger on why. Both of us sat down at an abandoned table and one of my friends came over. Chaz, which is short for Chastity.
She is more than just popular. She's my best friend. She knows me like the back of her hand, and can read me like a book. Ever since Preschool, we've been stuck like glue. Basically, she's the reason why I'm standing here today. I self-harmed when I was thirteen, and I don't think I would've ever made it out without her support. She's never afraid to speak her mind and if you talk smack about her, there is probably a 100% chance that you would most likely get your ass kicked. Her blond and brown hair is always curly, and I would kill to have her blue eyes. She is gorgeous.
As she sat down, she looked at me and smiled, while I on the other hand, gave her a puzzled look.
"I thought that you were sitting with Vinny and all of them today?" I didn't mean to sound like a bitch or anything, I was just curious.
"Nah, you boyfriend is annoying and I'm bored. Besides, I want to meet the new kid."
"Hello. I'm Christofer."
"Dude, don't say hello. I'm not an old person." Did I mention that Chaz was kind of.. Out there? He laughed at her and she shook his hand.
"I'm Chastity. But hoes call me Chaz."
"But.. I call you Chaz." I pouted, turning around slowly.
"But you're a special hoe. I'm like your pimp." Christofer shook his head at the both of us. After talking about a bunch of nothing for two minutes, we finally figured that we might as well get our lunch before we starve. Me and Chaz got our usual lunch, Jello, Sprite, Cheetos, and a chicken wrap. Yeah, we're really fat. I looked over at Christofer and noticed that he only had a salad with Pepsi. Chaz gave me a puzzled look, but I just shrugged.
"He doesn't eat meat." Chaz's mouth formed into the shape of an "O" and she continued eating. She may be social, but she isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. Which is just another reason why I love her.
"So Christofer, what are your favorite hobbies?" Chaz was such a talker.
"I like to play guitar, and I um, sing a little. Plus, I really like taking long walks barefoot."
"Let me guess, you also play the ukulele and banjo?" He gave me an astonished look, nodding his head.
"Yeah. How'd you know?"
"Because you remind me of someone who would. You know, like a hipster." Chaz laughed and Christofer scoffed.
"A hipster?"
"Yes. And the joint in your pocket earlier was a dead giveaway." Chaz laughed even harder, and the two if us joined in.
"Wow. That sounded creepier than I thought it would."
"Oh shit, I didn't think people noticed that. Drugs are bad for you. I learned that the hard way when last year, I went over my friend's house and we got so baked that we went skinny dipping in his pool, and his parents came home and found us. From then on, she was convinced that both of us were gay and in a secret relationship together." I choked on my soda and started laughing. My laugh is really annoying because it starts off with a squeaky sound, almost like a hamster wheel, and then it's loud, and I start gasping for air. Christofer started laughing at me, and I childishly stuck my tongue out.
"My laugh is stupid and obnoxious."
"It's not. I like it."
"Why?"
"Because it's different. I never seen anyone laugh like that before." Chaz laughed and I playfully rolled my eyes. I sound like a dying otter.
When the bell rang, the three of us walked to our class together, which was Spanish. So I guess you can say that I was even in a more happier mood because of that. All me and Chaz do during class is learn how to curse in Spanish. There was never a dull moment in that class. And with Christofer now in it, it's bound to be funnier.
"So um, Christofer, do you mind if I call you Chris?" All that came out was a shrug and a smile. I guess I'll take that as a yes.
"I was thinking that after school, if you're not doing anything, we can all hit the mall, fuck homework!" I laughed at Chaz's enthusiasm as he said yes.
"Sure. As long as my mom knows that I made friends, she's okay with that."
"It's a deal then." I opened up the doors of the Spanish class, greeting Señorita Cruz with a smile.
