When It Hit Me

I hopped out of my cozy bed, as I rummaged through my closet for something to wear. I settled on a pair of shorts with a Batman tank top and some my black Vans. I hate choosing outfits in the mornings.

I hopped in the shower and turned the dial on hot, instantly waking me up. I got out and towel-dried myself as I brushed my teeth, got dressed, and ran downstairs. I saw my Mom sitting at the table, drinking a cup of coffee. I greeted her and kissed her on the cheek as I poured myself a glass of orange juice from the fridge.

"So mom, how's your back?" She gave me a confused look for a moment, before she realized what I was talking about.

"Oh, that! I'm fine." I smiled at my mom as she got up from her chair.

"Seriously Mom? How many times are you gonna keep getting hurt?" I said chuckling. My mom chuckled too as she stroked my hair.

"I don't know, I keep getting hurt and it's getting all my damn nerves. What's next, I'll slip and fall off a cliff?" She said giggling.

"Don't jinx yourself." I said laughing as I grabbed my backpack and keys and flew out the door. Not literally, but you know what I mean.

I got out the car, looking around for Chaz. I was supposed to meet her out front since she said it's 'important'. I am so glad I got to use the car today. Chaz thinks that everything that is about her, is 'important'. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that she only wanted me to help her pick out an outfit for her next day or something. I hopped out the car as all eyes were on me. I guess everybody still hasn't forgot about what happened on Friday. Feeling embarrassed, I walked to the steps, meeting Chaz. Giggles and whispers were being shot at me as I walked to Chaz. Tears were threatening to fall, but I knew that I had to grow some lady balls and man up. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?

Chaz gave me a sympathy smile and came over and hugged me. I smiled and hugged her back. This is exactly why I love her.

"So what's so important that you wanted me to talk about?" She gave me a mischievous smile and I was afraid of what she might say next. Let's just say Chaz is just a little bit unpredictable.

"Well, I just wanted to show you something. Something so evil, something so sinister, something so breathtaking, somethin-"

"Okay Chaz I get it!" She giggled as she dug into her backpack and pulled out a journal. Though it looked more like a diary. I grabbed it from her hand as I looked at the cover. Oh my glob! It was Claire's diary! My eyes widened in shock as I looked at her.

"Oh my fucking god! Where'd you get this from?" Chaz playfully flipped her hair and smirked.

"Well, lets just say I had to threaten one of her friends to get it, you can thank me later." I was thinking about all the evil things I could do to her as I was flipping through the pages. But then my smile quickly faded. Chaz noticed as she put a worried look on her face.

"What's the problem Nick?" This just isn't me. I'm not really the revenge type. I'm the one who usually let things go after a while. That's just me. I shook my head in response.

"Chaz, I just can't do this. This just isn't me and it's kind of mean to go through someone else's privacy and steal their stuff." Chaz scoffed and she looked at me like I was crazy.

"Oh! Do you mean how she just came into your life and privacy, and stole your man?" She said in a matter-of-fact tone. That's when it hit me. No, I mean something literally hit me. I turned around to find out who threw a pen at my head. My eyes landed on Claire as she and my ex-friends laughed at me. Those traitors. She is right. I do have to fight back.

"Give me the notebook. That bitch is going down." I said shoving the diary in my backpack. Karma's a bitch, isn't it?

I sat during first period, listening to Mr. Smith talking a load of bull. Like seriously, who the hell actually wants to listen to him bicker all the time? Vinny was sitting two rows in front of me, and Christofer was sitting next to me. We were passing notes to each other as we both zoned out, not even answering our math questions. When I passed the note back, Chris laughed, but then he quickly covered his mouth. Mr. Smith turned around and me and him put our heads down, pretending to write in our notebooks.

When the bell rang, Chris said he had to go see a teacher before he went off to his next class. I was about to leave Mr. Smith's classroom, when the one and only Vinny, blocked my way. I sighed, annoyed as I put my hands on my hips.

"Get out of my way." He smirked at me as his friends were watching in amusement behind him.

"Or what? Your gonna get your stupid boyfriend to beat me up again?" I was about to protest when I heard a voice behind the guys.

"She just might." The voice said in a cold voice. Vinny turned around as I looked to see who the voice was. Christofer. I smiled at Chris as I smirked at Vinny.

"Now what were you saying?" I said to him smiling evily. Vinny glared at me as him and his crew followed behind him and walked away. I smiled as I put my arms around Chris' waist and hugged him tight.

"Thanks." He shrugged it off as I gave him a swift kiss on the cheek as his face turned a bright shade of red. I love when he does that. Maybe Chris moving here wasn't such a bad idea. In fact, I hope he never leaves.
