ll Chapter 30 ll   Not edited

I was furious. No, more like mad as hell. I was supposed to go to New York today! But instead I'll be spending my Friday with... Ugh why do I have to say it.. Vinny. Oh kill me now. Sometimes being too nice is like a curse. When he asked me to hang out with him since I didn't have any plans, I couldn't say no. Maria and aunt Abby were long gone, leaving me in this house by myself with nothing to do but talk to my parents. Which in my case, definitely wsn't an option. The last time Chris called me was an hour ago, since I told him to call me as soon as he got there. I just want him to be alright. You know, since he is my boyfriend.

I was currently pacing around my room, trying to conjure up some excuse as to why I cancelled. I could say I was sick? But he knocked on my door and seen me already. I could say my mom is going into labor? But I don't think she had a baby bump. Or I could tell him that I want to spend a night with my family? Yeah, I have an hour to get ready so I might as well get in the shower now.

I hopped in the shower and got out quickly, rummaging through my closet. The weather was pretty warm today, so I put on a white sundress with bright yellow flowers at the bottom of it. I didn't exactly know where we were going, so I guess that this outfit is good for anything. I ran downstairs and into the kitchen where mom was. She was at the table writing in a journal, Carrie Underwood playing softly in the background.

"Ugh, you're listening to her again?"

"This is real music. You'll understand as you get older."

"Yeah, I don't think Before He Cheats will get me anywhere in life but jail time or something."

"Why are you dressed up so nice?"

"Vinny is coming to get me soon and the weather is pretty nice outside."

"Yeah, but it's gonna rain later."

"Really? Oh my fuc-" The doorbell interrupted my temporary trucker mouth.

"Too late to change now." I glared at my mom, running to the door. But daddy dearest already beat me to it.

"Hello Mr. Miller." Vinny was always polite to my parents and I never seemed to figure out why. Chaz was always such a bitch to them, but they seemed to accept it. As in like, 'Mr. Miller those pants make you look like a lump of fat with a belt tied around it. Change it now.' And I'd be damned. He really would go to his room and change. But if it was me, he would've slapped me into next week.

"Good to see you Vincent. How are you?"

"Good. Really good. Is Mrs. Miller around anywhere?" He pointed his finger towards the kitchen, while I was sitting at the table, pretending that I never saw him. His eyes lit up when he seen me, and I gave him a small smile.

"Hello Mrs. Miller. My mom wanted me to give you this book back. She said it was really good."

"Oh! It's funny, I was looking all over for it."

"I'll be right back Vin, lemme go get my shoes. I ran into my room and slipped on my yellow Converses and grabbed my bag. Taking one last look at my room, I ran back downstairs, waving goodbye to my mom.

"Sorry to cut the conversation short, but I'm leaving. I'll be back home soon."

"Alright, stay safe hun." I held in the urge to roll my eyes as I got in the car. His car smelled the exact same as his room. The Hollister cologne fills the air and it took me some time to realize that it's my favorite one.
