The gun shot rang out throughout the woods alerting the rest of the team. Each member jumping at the sudden noise. Spencer coins hear his heart as if it were pounding in his head. Chest constricting making harder to breath.
Without hesitation he started running through the woods towards the direction of the shot.
Gun raising as he saw a person running far away from him in handcuffs. Spencer quickly raised his gun looking for a clear shot. Just before he could fire the man fell to the ground after another gun shot. Rossi with his gun raised moved to approach June's father roughly dragging him up.
The lack of a second bullet wound made spencer snap back into focus and keep running towards the gun shot. As he got closer the noise of Morgan yelling became clearer. Hotch's voice was also clear but slightly calmer.Spencer froze at the crimson stains on Morgan's hands. June lying on the ground, eyes barely open and blood pouring out of the side of her neck that Morgan was trying to stop. Hotch on the phone on the background calling for an ambulance. A chunk of wood covered in blood from the tree freshly marred.
For once he felt like he couldn't more until Morgan shouted his name to help him.
************************************
Spencer and Morgan waited together in the waiting room for news from the surgeon. The rest of the team were busy at the station trying to close up the case and interigating Samuel White which seemed to make rossi very happy.
JJ had tried to wait with them but before spencer could see her Morgan had told her to leave before she made a scene. Not knowing spencer's reaction if he caught sight of her worried him after what he had said before they got on the plane.
Penelope was on call on spencer's phone and was not allowed to be hung up on at all costs. Emily regularly texted for updates. Spencer had not moved from his chair since the moment they entered the waiting room. Morgan had never not been able to predict spencer's reaction before which honestly scared him.
His eyes finally rose when he heard the door open and a man in a doctors coat walk in, making both agents stand up.
"we've managed to stop the bleeding and stabilise her for now. The wood grazed an artery, she's very lucky" the doctor stated cutting straight to the point. Both men visably relaxed at the news.
"So she's gonna be okay. There isn't any lasting damage" Spencer asked crossing his arms to hide his much they were shaking.
"We would like her to stay for a day or two for observation but as far as we can see both mother and baby are going to be just fine" the doctor smiled.
SLAM
There is was. Morgan finally got a reaction from spencer. Only it was one that he had never seem before and therefore never had to deal with.
After years in the FBI, solving the most gruesome murders and trauma.
Spencer Reid had fainted on the floor of the hospital waiting room.
If he knew how much germs were on that floor then he would never stop covering himself in disinfectant. The thought making Morgan burst out laughing.
Leaving a very confused doctor wanting to call the phyciatric ward.
