The team all gathered on the jet on the way to the latest crime scene. All reviewing the files they were given.
"Let's go over victimology again" hotch ordered from his seat.
"Targets low risk brunette victims in they're twenties. Most likely watches them , learning there routine" Morgan summarizes.
"What I'd like to know is how he holds them for days and nobody heard anything" Prentiss stated. "He's taking a big risk by keeping them in their own environment. They could just run out the door and its all over".
" Probably sets up the house when the victims are away then waits for them to come home" Reid suggested.
"These much be surrogates. The torture and bludgeoning suggests it a hate crime. His victims also age along with him suggesting the target of his rage is around the same age of our latest victim" Rossi said adding to the discussion.
"If he keeps up the pattern them we're looking at another victim soon" hotch stated coldly. "JJ and Rossi go to the latest crime scene , see what you can find. Reid , Morgan you go to the coroners office see if they missed anything. Prentiss and I will go to the station and set up".

" You doin' okay genius" Morgan asked in the car on the way to see the latest victim. "You were being a little quiet on the plane". He turned to look at him briefly before looking back on the road.
" I'm fine" Spencer denied shifting slightly.
"Look kid I know they might resemble June" Derek confronted. "But this is a long way from D.C".
" I know. Just never knew anyone that fit a profile before" Spencer said fiddling with the strap of his messenger bag.
"Relax. We'll solve the case and be back home soon"

The feeling of being watched didn't seem to disappear for June. All week she felt eyes on her wherever she went. It didn't help knowing Spencer was away on a case.
She was starting to lose sleep over it although she swore it was just her being paranoid. Winter was almost here and she was already bundled up. No matter what she couldn't seem to shake of the cold. The anniversary of when she ran away from home was coming up so she just assumed it was to do with that.
The week had been hectic between rehearsals and starting to shop for Christmas presents. Her phone started buzzing the second she got home. Looking at it seeing that Spencer was calling.
June dropped her bags at the door to answer her phone.
"Hi" she smiled over the phone. Glad that he called around the same time as usual. "I've just been Christmas shopping and I've hit the Penelope Garcia mother load of presents".
" hey June , pretty boy's gonna be a sec" Derek answered smirking at a frantic Spencer Reid looking for his phone. "Can I have the name of that store though. Babygirl's hard to buy for" he begged.
"No way then she'll find out about it" June joked , putting away her shopping. "So why are you calling and not Spence".
" we're having a pranking war and boy wonder had lost his phone" he chuckled.
"When are you gonna give it back"
"When he notices that I'm using it and not on the phone to Garcia" Derek answered. He looked over at Spencer meeting his annoyed glare. "Which would be right now".
June could hear them fighting over the phone until finally she could hear Spencer talking over the phone.
" so you found you're phone" she teased. " good to know ".
" I was meant to call you but he pranks and the case is so cold. I'm so sorry" he ranted of the phone , not knowing what to say. "We should be home the day after tomorrow hopefully". The case had taken a twist when they tracked the killer moving closer to Washington. Which also made Spencer nervous since the killing date was nearing.
"Its fine. So how's this prank war going" she laughed off. Tensing up when a shiver when up her spine. She looked around her seeing nothing. Finally noticing the loft. Everything looked the same.
But something was different.
"I'm sorry I have to go. We have to give the profile" Spencer said over the phone. Looking over his shoulder as the team gathered before hanging up.
June ended the call, looking around her loft to she what changed. The atmosphere felt off. It didn't feel safe. She quietly got a knife from the kitchen before checking each room. Choosing to trust her instincts. They never failed her before.
After checking the last room she relaxed. Realizing the place was empty. She looked at the clock deciding to go to bed early since she had work tomorrow.
She slipped the knife under her pillow just as a precaution. Failing asleep quickly.
Not noticing a figure slip out from under the bed. It hovered over her sleeping form , tilting its head as it looked at her.
Before leaping on her to attack. She woke panic filling her whole as familiar blue eyes met green. Scratching at the hands around her throat tightly. Cutting of her air supply. She moved one arm quickly reaching for the knife and slashing her attackers arm.
He lost his grip for a moment. Allowing June to make a run for the door. She screamed when he grabbed her ankle, dragging her back before hitting her on the head.
Effectively knocking her out. She was hauled over the mans shoulder and left into the night.
She should have looked under the bed.
