Now before I continue with this summer, understand this. Summer's were always joyful for me. They were something that brought me a peace of mind after working so hard all year. Never did I see this coming.

"Dad.. I don't get it. I need a tutor or something.." I said. I was frustrated. I expected the school work to just click. It didn't.

"I can ask around, unless you had someone in mind." he said to me.

"I really don't have anyone in particular in mind..." I said. That was my mistake. Those eight words made all the difference. You see I could have asked for none other than Ms. Hermone Jean Granger. No, I had to make my life difficult.

"I'll be back." my dad told me patting my knee.

I entered the kitchen followed by my dog looking for a snack. When I'm stressed I eat. It's been a terrible study diversion tatic I've had for years. I hear a crack and turn around to see HIM in my kitchen. I almost dropped my juice. My mouth was open wide in shock. Who would have thought that none other than Draco Malfoy would be standing here?

"Might catch flies like that sweetheart." My mom says passing me and laying a kiss on my temple. I quickly fix myself and watch her embrace Draco. Since when had they been so cozy??

"Draco, it's a pleasure to see you. We can't express our gratitude enough! Is there anything I can get you special for dinner?" My mom asked him.

"No, ma'am. I appreciate that. I just want to be of help for Amber." he said smiling. Well that little shit pulled it off. It looked genuine. Draco Malfoy doesn't help people. After the shit show last year for thelittle bit I seen I'd figured that out quickly. He apparently bought his entire quidditch team the new Nimbus 2000 and bribed his way onto the team. Not exactly charming if you ask me.

"Well then, I'll leave you two to it." she said.

"thank you again, draco." my dad said shaking his had.

After my parents left I looked at him and just stared. I was still not over the fact that he would be helping me.

" Come, Sparks. Let's get to work. Where are you having trouble?" he asked  taking my hand and guiding me back to my stack of books.

At that point I'd be damned. Draco taught me everything easily. It made sense. He took his time and didn't get frustrated with me. We decided it was time to take a break and Draco decided to stay for dinner since my mom had offered.

"Mom, please. Don't bring those pictures out!" I exclaimed as my mom tried bringing THOSE pictures out. You know the baby ones. The embarrising ones.

"Amber, shush. I'm sure you'll see Draco's too." she said smiling to me.

"I'm sure my mother would love to have the chance to do that as well."Draco laughed.

"Amber was so small here. Even at that age she showed signs of being magical. I'm happy we went to St. Mungo's and not a muggle hospital. The doctor almost got knocked off of his feet." my mom said.

They looked at pictures for awhile before my dad had come into the room.

"Draco, it's time to head back. Would you like to come back tomorrow?" he asked him.

"Actually, sir. If you wouldn't mind I'd like to invite Amber to my home to study. There are some books in our library Ithink may help with our studies." Draco stated.

"Well pumpkin, what do you think?" my dad asked turning to me.

I agreed not knowing what to expect. Draco was really easy to be around. I figured his parents had to be the same. After our good byes and  a good night sleep I was at the manor the next morning.

"Honey, I wouldn't mention your friends in front of the Malfoys." my dad warned.

"Why?" I asked.

"You see... The Malfoy's don't share the same... ideals as we do. You know we love and support you in all of your choices but the Malfoy's don't." my dad said.

I nodded my head. I figured he meant that they were all about the blood elitest crap. I'm still thankful my parents let me have my own personality. I've met some of the best people in my house. My mind drifted to George. He was a safe place and I don't know what I'd do without him. I thought about my other friends as well, but it wasn't the same.

We reached the door and a house elf assisted us into the foyer.

"Amber! Welcome! You must try this biscut. The elves made them fresh this morning and they are to die for!" Narcissa gushed.  I gladly went and sat with her.

My dad and I exchanged our fairwells and I sat with Narcissa for awhile discussing what issues I was having in studying.

"I'm glad our Draco is able to help."she said to me.

"He really is great at this. If he doesn't become a teacher, I'd be surprised!" I exlaimed.

I heard a cough and noticed that Draco had joined us. He took my wrist and we excused ourselves to the massive library.  We studied for awhile and then Draco wanted to show me the rest of the house and take a break. My house wasn't small by any means but the Manor put my house to shame.  I hadn't noticed Draco holding my hand the entire time.

"Sometimes my father drinks and gets... wild." Draco told me.

"I... I'm sorry. That must be terrible." I say to him.

"I don't know why I'm telling you these things, Amber. I just feel drawn to you. It is terrible though and that's why my future kids will have it different. I won't be like that towards them." Draco said almost to himself.

Draco told me his father had bad drinking habits. My dad socially drank and never did at home so I didn't fully understand. He told me that Narcissa tried to compansate but it wasn't the same. He never could seem to make his father proud where as my father constantly doted on me.

"Do you want to stay over? WE have a guest room and then we can get right to studying." Draco offered kicking the ground nervously.

"If it's okay, sure. I've never had a sleepover before!" I said excitedly.
