"You have the softest lips," Grace mumbled under her breath as she pulled away from the passionate kiss, gasping for air. Yet she immediately regretted having ended it in the first place.
"Then why do you keep pulling away?" the brunette whispered into her ear, making the blonde smile sweetly. Toni's voice alone was enough to give her goosebumps. Her body never before had reacted to somebody that way; not to Dave, Jackson, John or Mason, not even to Shelby. Toni Shalifoe was doing things to her no one else did.
Thus, she pulled the girl in for another kiss, making it last for longer than the rest, deepening it. Time stopped for a moment. Her perception of her environment varied. Everything was different. Her surroundings were blurry, but vivid. The small noises vanished. And there was a newfound warmth not coming from the sun, but instead originated from the brunette's lips. Grace felt like she was on drugs.

"The girls reported that you and Toni were away for some time that day. Some started getting worried about your whereabouts. What happened?" Dr. Faber's question rang through the room. He looked expectingly at the blonde girl as if he was trying to solve a riddle.
But Grace just shrugged. "We went to collect firewood, some twigs, and small branches. Lost the track of time and got lost on our way back. Nothing special, really." It wasn't a lie. She did find herself lost eventually.
"But weren't you trapped on the island for days at this point?" the man spoke up again. "I suppose you must have gone collecting firewood several times. How did you get lost?"
"Well, for an hour or so everything appeared to be different. That combined with my lack of sense of orientation probably caused me and Toni to get lost," she answered, her response confusing the men more than answering their questions.
"What do you mean by 'everything appeared to be different'?" agent Young queried intrigued, his question earning yet another shrug.
"Sometimes the world's just different. Different for the better. Different for the worse. It doesn't really matter, it's just not the same, or at least, it feels dissimilar. I don't know if it actually is. It might be though," she trailed off. "What do you think?" she looked at the two men curiously.
"You and Toni went missing several times after this. Was that too due to your bad sense of orientation?" Dr. Young asked, ignoring the girl's prior statement. It was obvious that he knew that she wasn't telling them the full truth. He knew of her and Toni's relationship, but the blonde did not understand how exactly this would help with their investigation in any way.
"Yes," she smiled, her voice filled with fake sweetness.
