"YOU KNOW WHAT I want?" Millie asks, sitting down with Claire at the Gryffindor table. It's the first day back to school in the new year, something Millie has been dreading since the big hand hit twelve on December 31st... or would it be January 1st? She's not sure. But she's definitely sure that she and Claire went to bed much too late last night after staying up to finish all their schoolwork. So, Millie Milev is very very very tired this morning on the ninth-worst day of the year. It also doesn't help that she hasn't gotten a good night's sleep since Christmas Eve Eve, meaning she is a teeny-tiny bit loopy. Not a lot! Functioning on a week of very little sleep is not healthy for anyone, so she's a normal level of loopy, considering the circumstances. Five days of no sleep she can do, but a week? She could just pass out at any second! Hermione's going to have to hold her up in Potions!

Nevertheless, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are already eating their breakfast—because they have never heard of being polite and waiting to eat. So, the Veelas sit down with them, making the third years squish further down the table. They can complain but it's not Millie and Claire's fault that there are so many Gryffindors... Even if Claire isn't a Gryffindor and is just taking up more space... But that's not the point.

"I don't want to hear you yammering on about rubbish this early in the morning, Millie," Claire grumbles, grabbing a bit of toast and quickly covering it in chocolate spread. That girl loves chocolate spread.

"I want a dog." Everyone just stares at her. She's two sentences in and already, no one's understanding what the girl is going on about. "Like, a little baby puppy that's all cute and happy and lovely and cute!"

Claire furrows her eyebrows, "Mils, you can't have a dog at Hogwarts..."

"You see, that's why I thought it'd be such an important thing to bring up this morning, especially with Harry here, of course. I think that rule, how dogs aren't allowed here, I think Dumble-floor made it up on purpose to get back at me."
