THERE IS NO reason for the girls in Millie's dorm room to be as rude as they are to her. She does nothing to them yet they are the bitchiest bitches on the planet. Millie would never say that out loud—she has never understood why she's not a Hufflepuff—but it's not wrong. She reads, listens to Madonna, gets dressed, and sleeps. That's it. The meanest thing she's said to them is 'has anyone taken my hair clip?' and it's only mean because she said taken not seen. So why they have to be so rude has always been a mystery to Millie Milev.

She tidies up after everyone, she plays her music quietly, she doesn't disturb them, she even asks if anyone wants anything from the kitchens before she goes. But if she asks them if they've taken her pink hair clip they think it's fine to say, 'Ew, no!' Sorry, that answer is incorrect. You're supposed to say, 'No, sorry,' then, if you want, you can add, 'do you need help looking for it?'

Millie almost went full-blown Veela on them that night. She wanted to scream at them and call them all what they are, arseholes. But, the girl took a deep breath, smiled, and said, 'Okay, thanks.'

Of course, this is not the only time she's wanted to rip their heads off, the only time they've made her want to run to the kitchens so she can cry while all the house elves stare at her. In fact, September 1st of 1994 is another one of those days.

Millie sits through the rest of the feast, not listening to one word that comes out of Dumbledore's mouth, but instead looking at Harry every chance she gets. She quietly eats her chocolate roll before she and Claire make their way up the stairs. Claire keeps going on about some tournament and how her cousin is probably going—where, Millie's not sure—and how she thinks it's stupid and entering is just asking for death... how cheery.

Eventually, Claire has to start going the opposite direction towards her common room, leaving Millie alone on her trudge back to the Gryffindor one. Most of the other Gryffindors pass her so she's walking alone, twirling her wand between her fingers, trying to take up as much time as possible getting to the common room so she doesn't have to endure too many bitchy looks.
