MILLIE'S SITTING ALONE at the Gryffindor table, having her tea and biscuit, trying her best to think about anything except this divorce. Don't get her wrong, she's glad it's happening, but there's still a—very small—part of her that's upset about it. Her parents have been together for so long and, in Millie's eyes, it's been perfect. So, it's strange to think of them in separate houses, maybe even in different towns or counties. Sure, things change, but Millie's not used to this big of a change. She's lived in the same house with the same people for fifteen years. No part of her wanted any of that to change. She loves Holy Island and their little house on the beach. She likes how quiet it is once the tide comes in but how busy it can be during the day with all the tourists buzzing about the town. She also finds it quite funny when tourists get stuck on the causeway once the tide's come in and they have to get the coastguard to save them, even though her mams will yell at her for laughing because it's a 'serious situation.'

So, of course, Millie's sad about the divorce, especially considering anything can come from it. She and her mam could lose the house or she could lose her mam for all Millie knows. Not in the death way but in the custody way... Not that Millie is sure how that works, she'll have to look into it.

The point is though, that Millie finds it so sad that everything has to change. Sure, her life hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows, but the family part, mostly, has been. She's not really prepared for it all to change. Like, no part of Millie's body, not even her little toe, will be happy about losing the annual Milev family beach day in August, despite her mam's evilness. Sure, it's not a great situation, but egg-mayo on the beach is too good to pass up. It's hard to think of all that going away.

It seems as though Millie excessive worrying about this might have to go away too though, considering Claire sits down at the table, rudely interrupting Millie's thoughts, "Have you told them yet?" Maybe be a bit more polite next time and say 'excuse me!' It's really not that complicated. Or, at least say something important, not something Millie doesn't even understand. She isn't in the mood to decipher Claire's Ravenclaw riddles. Millie's been doing that sort of stuff all day at school, she doesn't need to now.
